The Penningtons have long been associated to the criminal gang and have ammassed a fortune quite nicely with it, as they leave no trace of their identities and moved their operations from London, England to the United States in Salem, Masschusettes.

At 13 Alex manifested mutant powers she can read peoples minds and also use her pheromones to seduce them and enthrall them to do her bidding. Alex also has telekinetic abilities.
In school she put her telepathy and pheromones to good use enthralling both the male and female students whenever she wished and was even the valedictorian.
At first she was bombarded by the massive influx of peoples thoughts which almost made her go mad but she eventually controlled this aspect of her powers and developed telekinesis along with her telepathy and pheromones making her a very powerful Omega Class mutant.

When she turned 18, Alex joined the Royal Hearts Gang with the insistence her parents. Her brother and sister joined later. As the 10 of Hearts, Alex enthralled her targets as her parents robbed them. her brother fires kinetic energy and her sister has a powerful sonic scream that tears into the soul of her targets and absorb them. She calls herself the Ace of Spades which is considered the 'death card'.

At 21 Alex met Tony Rasiglione, a professional bodybuilder and owner of a chain of pizzerias. She used her pheromones on him and he placed her on his will. 2 years into the marriage Tony dies of an apparent heart failure due to alleged use of steroids. Alex inherited half of his fortune and sold off the pizzerias after an investigation determined she had nothing to do with her husbands death. After she read her parents minds, Alex was disgusted when she realized they were using her for her mutant powers.

She moved to Angel Falls then became a high class escort using her telepathy and pheromones on high rollers. She soon met and became friends with Harriet Chin, a former stripper aka the Pumpkin Queen and went to business for themselves as escorts, catering to supervillians and rogue heroes. Alex and Harry met Deirdre O Niel; a very pretty former model that transforms into the humungous brute Doll and Crystal Montoya,the sadistic but tragic Blood Lasher
The Freak Four was formed and they soon went to go on as criminals for hire using Alexes business capital.

The range of her telepathy is 5-10 miles.
* Influencing the minds of multiple targets, Alex can make them do her bidding and these 'mental puppets' are loyal to her until she releases them.
* Mesma can telepathically read a persons thoughts and even mutilpe targets are suseptible to her influence.
* Tapping into the synapses of a target, Alex can make that person go to sleep and can even perform it on a group as long as they are not aware of her.
* Mesma can mentally trigger orgasms by triggering the pleasure centers of the mind in both males and females whether they are under the influence of her pheromones or not.
* She can pry hidden thoughts from a persons mind and use those thoughts against them to mentally ensnare them to do her bidding.
If she is angry she can telepathically cause trauma to the target lobotomizing them.
* Alex can detect other telepaths and can block them for a short time until they regain their focus.

* Mesma can even mentally pull and bring down an airplane from the air and can lift an aircraft carrier from out of the water.
* Alex can put up a telekinetic aura around herself and others if she wishes. This aura can deflect gunfire and hand grenades even small missiles.
The aura is a dome that is 10 feet in circumference.
* Alex can form a scimitar made of concentrated telekinetic energy. This sword can cut through armor plating. She can make the blade of the sword any size for as long as she holds it. If she loses it in battle it`ll dissipate and she has to form another.
