Description
My goal with this was to use more dramatic lighting and play with the colors to get away from the normal palette. I understand the complementary colors are supposed to look good together, but I usually prefer analogous or temperature palettes. I just struggle to get complementary colors to work(you'd think I'd have some sort of clue of how to apply color theory by now). But they're sure good for contrast.
So I thought a chess theme would be fitting for Shinsou. I've seen marionettes used plenty for Shinsou fanart, but not as much chess.
For the title, I wanted to do something other than a predictable "checkmate" or whatever. So I looked up a bunch of chess terms, because I don't know much about chess, and picked one. I guess critical position basically means the turning point of the game or something.

Can never have too much of the brainwash boy.
I'm hoping to get some of the sleepy caterpillar soon. He just wears so much black, it's not as fun to color. But I can relate. I like wearing black.
