Heeey, I've been watching My Hero Academia. Aizawa and Shinsou were instantly my favorites(I'm realizing I have a type...). Aizawa is so cool. And I find Shinsou's situation so interesting. The idea around Shinsou is that he wants to be a hero, but his power("quirk") is Brainwashing and it's viewed as a villainous power so he sorta has a hard time. You'd be scared of someone who had the power to brainwash you, right? It's almost always portrayed as a villain power, which is the stereotype he has to push through. And I find that so fascinating. It really can be used in a good way, he can get bad guys to stop without fighting them. Which, isn't that better than destroying everything like most superheroes do(who have more destructive powers like strength)?I need more of this beautiful brainwash boy. I need more Aizawa too, but he at least has more screen time(even if it's not enough for me...).Β
On a side note, the background was interesting to figure out.Β

Yeah, Deku is a good character, but I think One for All really holds him back from being an interesting character. So much of the plot and his character revolves around his quirk. That, and he's still sorta basic.

Yeah, that's what I think would have been better. Give Mirio the OfA quirk if it's still gotta be there. Mirio has honestly been more selfless, I think. It seems like Deku want to be the best hero a little more than he wants to help people. Just a little.

I didn't watch that far either, but I let myself indulge in lots of spoilers. There are some bullets or something that can take away quirks. Mirio sacrificed his quirk to save a little girl who was abused by villains for her powerful quirk. Deku got the credit for saving her, but I feel Mirio did more. Mirio was the potential candidate for OfA before AllMight chose Deku almost on a whim.

Aizawa and Shinsou are also two of my favourite characters from the show and OMG this fan art is just magnificent 
My other favourite character would be Present Mic, his energy and cool vibes basically made me fall in love, plus his interactions with Aizawa are the funniest and most precious thing :3

Β I enjoy coloring, even if it can be time consuming. 
Mic is awesome! He's really amusing and I want to see more of him. The whole bright, loud, outgoing personality with the gloomy loner friend is always super amusing to me. I'm a sucker for it.Β
I also want more of Snipe, randomly, but I don't have high hopes for that one happening.Β

I enjoy sketching too, and it's easier to make more of those. Getting to the coloring part takes more time and just can't happen as much. Plus, lineart is the most tedious part to me.Β
Haha, yeah. I wasn't getting anywhere very fast with the other way I was doing it, so I scrapped that all and used the brush.Β
Yeah! I just...want more of everyone that isn't Deku. Deku is a good character and all, but he's just a stereotypical shonen protagonist so I've basically seen him a million times before.Β

YES! I'm just on season 3. Definitely gonna read the manga once I get through the anime stuff.Β
I'll admit, I was hesitant at first, cuz some of the quirks are...really creative. A little too creative(don't hug me I'm scared??). But my sister wanted me to, and she struggles with life sometimes, and I figured it'd be good for her to have someone to talk to about it. So here I am.

Oh believe me, I have problems with some of the characters in the show (Mineta is and always will be a scumbag) but it just has so many good and creative characters that I just can't help but love. And good on you for getting into it for your sister. ^^Β

Sweet! I wasn't sure when that would come out, but hadn't bothered to check cuz I'm not there yet anyway. The villains just got Bakugo.Β
I hate Mineta sooo much. If his motivation is seriously just wanting to be perverted, then he has no business being a hero. (My sister hates Ojiro, but I don't really understand why). I've put up with perverted characters before, it wasn't too distracting, but Mineta is another level of annoying.Β
Tbh, I normally don't care too much about female representation(my favorite characters usually end up guys anyway), but I was a bit bothered by how BNHA treats female characters(it's mostly Mineta's fault). People can say they wear revealing outfits cuz of their quirks(Midnight and Yaoyorozu in particular), but it seems more like an excuse to sexualize them. I don't mind a couple cuz there just are people like that, but I mostly would like them to stop doing it to the child characters(they're 15, right?).Β

I watch it on thewatchcartoononline.tv I believe it has both the dub and the sub(the sub is under the title Boku no Hero Academia, the dub is under My Hero Academia.Β
I dunno how trustworthy the site is, so I just watch it on my old kindle fire. It's less prone to viruses. I'd rather not risk my computer for it.Β

If you don't know, then I would assume not. It is a monthly subscription. Personally, I wouldn't get it myself, but my parents have it so I just leech off them, haha the few times I use it.Β
That is true. The creator of BNHA/MHA is just really creative with the powers he gives people. I never would have thought of some of them. The mutation quirks are usually the weirder ones. One character has six arms and can grow extra body parts on those arms. So he can potentially have a ton of arms, and put ears or eyes or mouths on the ends of them instead of hands. My sister really likes that specific character, but it took me awhile to come to terms with how weird his quirk is. Or a person with a cat head. Or someone who is basically a brick. But, yeah, stuff like that. You get used to it though and just come to accept it. I'm just a really logical person, so I have to work to put that to the side.Β

I'm afraid we have the same types because he is one of the best characters in my opinion XD if he was the protagonist the story would be a lot more interesting I think... With him having the potential of a villain but not giving in! It's a really cool concept
But I must admit that my favorite is all might, he's just so huggable and unlucky, poor guy!

Haha. I totally agree. I went into it already knowing Aizawa would be my favorite. Then Shinsou appeared and I'm effectively obsessed with him. Once I heard his backstory and motivation and whatnot, I instantly wished he was the main character instead. A kid with a villain quirk trying to be a hero is so much more interesting to me than the all powerful hero. And I guess learning about the more reserved characters is more interesting cuz they don't just wear everything on their sleeve and you just end up wanting to know more. (Which is part of why Sans is so popular. People love a mystery)
All Might is great and all, but absolutely everyone in the show is obsessed with him and it bugs me just a bit. It's making he feel a bit overrated. Can't someone have a favorite hero that's not All Might, just once? There's gotta be someone who really admires Present Mic or Snipe or something. But if the manga/anime could just tone down the constant All Might worship, he'd be great.

Yeah I remember that when deku got the powers I was like... Oh. I mean, I was hoping he'd never get them and show people that you can be a hero even if you don't have those, it's a far more powerful message XD
To be honest I don't like all might because of his super hero powers, I like him mainly when he shows his fragility under his facade. He always looks so tired, as if on the verge of letting go and not doing it, so that's why I like him. I think my favorite scene with him is when he doesn't want to tell deku he'll die, one day. If they have some guts, I think all might will really die because he will do something stupid. I've always been fascinated by the trope of the tired hero XD mha is still a Shonen and has many tropes of them in it... I wish the author would be more subversive on that front, I remember that when I went in first time I was a little disappointed because of this.
But yeah, when shinsou showed up I was "okay this character in five seconds just ate 99% percent of the other characters" XD can he be the protagonist now? XD
Also... Todoroki is zuko, right? And even though I like him etc... Sorry, but zuko is untouchable XD sometimes it's as if mha promises me something I hope will happen, but then doesn't do anything with it and that makes me sad.
I don't like deus ex machinas, but there are still some in there, especially with the one for all power. I have some theories about what will happen to all might (i might be bad too, because in almost all my scenarios he dies XD) but I'm not sure they will go through with it

Someone told me about BNHA a few years ago and I had intended to watch it, but just recently got around to it. But she gave me the basic rundown about how this Quirkless kid is given a quirk and so on. So I always knew we was gonna get a quirk. But once I watched it, I realized that it was sorta disappointing that he got it. But at the same time, being a hero basically gives them permission to use their quirks in a fight. Without a quirk, there's not much point in getting a hero license. Being a cop would be more productive, just not as glamorous. So I understand why giving him the quirk is good. But still.Β
Yes, that's exactly what Shinsou did. He seriously just stole the show and I have little interest in the main plot now, haha. Shinsou should be the lead, Aizawa should be the main mentor character, Deku can be the awesome quirkless cop-hero who is super helpful, and All Might can be the symbol of peace that is secretly getting weaker and now he's focusing on training the next generation. Don't need to bother with the whole One for All stuff, don't need that deus ex machina, thank you. I can also live without all the cheesy "I'm gonna save everyone and be friends with everyone" talk. Great sentiment and all, but every shonen protagonist does it and it's old. I want a main character who is just a little less optimistic. (FMAB is an exception. That's practically perfect imo)
We're both bad I guess, haha. Cuz it just seems like a good plot point to lose the symbol of peace tragically. But it would be interesting if he was defeated by a more cunning villain, rather than a powerful one.Β
Todoroki is definitely Zuko, but with ice powers in addition to the fire powers. I tried to draw him once cuz my sister told me to, and I couldn't make him not look like Zuko. I think the scar instantly makes him look like Zuko, no matter what you do.
I have this problem with most animes where I really like the concept and some of the characters, but the plot and execution are a little lacking. There are so many other directions I wish things would go. But oh, well. I'll just have to read fanfics to fill my needs.Β
