I skipped shading in an attempt to save time and effort. I think it worked a bit. But on the downside, there's no shading. I still went through the effort of colored lines.I'll probably keep the smaller sketches simpler like this, and put more effort into the ones I feel need it. I do have a couple of those I plan to work on soon.

I don't think so. Humans aren't as susceptible to emotions. But monsters are more vulnerable to bad intent and whatnot.

Yeah but you hear the dusting sound effect after he moves off screen, so I think it proves he is. Sides he’s only got 1 HP.

Whether he actually died or not is another question. One of the major differences between a boss monster and a regular monster is that boss monsters' souls persist just a little longer after death, which is why a human can only absorb a boss monster soul. But because we don't ever see sans die, we can't tell if his soul lasted any amount of time after he dies(if he even does, Sans is tricky).

Yeah he could easily just fake his death and narrowly escape. I feel that would be a realistic theory.

I could see it going either way. 1 HP or not, one hit worth 999999999+ damage would've killed anyone. So if he survived, then his HP is not even a factor. It would've had to have been determination or something.
I also don't know what to think of the fact that Sans appears in Deltarune at the building that's clearly Grillby's. And at the end of the Geno route, he says he's going to Grillby's. Coincidence? I'm not sure if Toby is hinting at something or just trolling.

Chara: *Hmmm well it would make sense that it highly likely.. or maybe not? I don’t know. Sans maybe super strong but.. his defenses are very weak. It’s concerning but.. if he really got hit... I’d worry.. he wouldn’t be able to survive for too long, knowing... how monsters are. But perhaps being emotional about such a situation right now is clouding my theoretical thoughts. I.. would rather not think of it, thank you very much. the ghost stiffens up, quietly hiding her strong discomfort.

*... Maybe. We hardly know too much about the Dark World at the moment, but perhaps both our world and it somehow connect through some kind of invisible strings of sorts. What do you make of all this, Knight?

The Dark World has to be connected somehow, otherwise we wouldn't be able to get there. There's still so many mysteries. I gotta brush up on some Deltarune lore, but weren't the Darkners trapped there similar to how the monsters were trapped Underground? Or did they always live there and were connected by the dark fountains? Questions to ponder. I wish we had more information, but we can only be patient and wait for the dog to reveal more.

*Well according to what the Chaos King said during the battle with him, the Dark siders suffered a lot because of the Lighteners. Or so what’s been told. But who knows if that’s true. What’s really going on, is what I want to know. Some people suspect that Ralsei is a villain for some reason, but why? we don’t know yet.

I think I heard somewhere that he's not gonna release them chapter by chapter. Chapter 1 was basically a demo, then he'll release the full game once it's done. But either way, we'll get answers eventually.
I've heard the Ralsei villain theory, and it made a disturbing amount of sense. Basically, there's a new dark fountain disrupting balance, right? But it also creates their world. The fountain at Card Castle has a developed and thriving society while Ralsei's is pretty...empty. So it's likely that the Card Castle fountain is the original while Ralsei's is the second one messing up the balance. So does that mean Ralsei is secretly evil?? I dunno. And with the legend needing a darkner prince...that could be Lancer. Ralsei is a prince with no subjects, which...isn't really much of a prince. Lancer is undoubtedly a prince.
I don't know how I feel about this theory, but it makes sense. But who knows what curve balls Toby will throw at us. He always surprises.

Mmmm yeah to be fair.. I have mixed feelings about Ralsei being evil. I mean even though she was pretty much alone, hid her real identity at the start cause she didn’t feel comfortable enough to show herself to them at first, she did a lot of nice things, and she even taught Kris to not hurt anyone.
If she’s really evil, then wouldn’t she have revealed it near the end? Or.. something like that? Because that’s what usually happens in stories/video games. She would have betrayed them there and then. Unless of course she’s the one who hypnotized the Dark King? Ooooh plot twist! :3

I dunno she just doesn’t strike me as someone evil. Even though what you said about the her fountain being the second one and the Card Castle’s one being the first, with her telling them that in order to restore balance, the Card Castle’s fountain needed to be blown out well... okay maybe she is.

I know, he doesn't seem like a bad guy. But this is also made by the guy who made the friendly looking talking flower one of the most murderous characters in the game. So I really wouldn't put it past him.
Considering the game is basically just a demo at this point and we haven't actually reached the end, I don't think it would be revealed yet if Ralsei really was a bad guy.
Also, is it weird that Lancer and the Spade King announced that they were the bad guys when we met them? Bad guys don't normally do that, or they don't even realize they're bad.
For all we know, destroying the Card Castle dark fountain could destroy the society of darkners living there. Susie asked if it would be okay, and Lancer doesn't know what'll happen if it's destroyed. So many questions...

I'm convinced that the Spade King wasn't always like that. He ruled alongside the other Kings for a long time, after all. The four of them all worked together to lock Jevil away, after all. So...when and how did that change?
Oh, he also made LOVE and acronym for violence levels, haha. Quite the opposite of what it would normally mean. Toby Fox is definitely one to be unpredictable.
I just keep thinking about all the mysteries of Deltarune, and it drives me just a little nuts.

I tend to make characters with tragic, traumatizing backstories.
They sure can be interesting. Some of them can be very convincing too.

Yeah I do too for quite a handful of my characters, but others may have more peaceful stories depending on my mood and what I feel like doing ^^
I would go on a bit as to who some of my characters are, but you can always check my page whenever I make something anyways xD so I’m sure you’ll see it if I’ve made a new character haha.

Haha. I make new characters all the time. I don't even have all of them up on my page.
I'm not much into theorizing much either. Some little ones. And it's not like I go out trying to think of a theory, I just try to connect dots. And I guess that's still theorizing.
I know, right? Colors and shading and pretty effects. I could never devote myself to that. Maybe a simple black and white one(might need small splashes of color though). But I'm not sure I could convince myself to do backgrounds.

*Heheh well if you enjoy making your tragic and sad backstories, that’s fair enough~ No one’s judging you. We all have our own tastes in what we like to have for our own characters. So while some of ours have peaceful stories, maybe something in their past wasn’t so good, and so they’ve shut this part of themselves to focus on the bright side of life, for fear of re-living those experiences. XD while others have a more obvious sad story, and things become to get better for them in the present timeline. the ghost explains with a smile.
Hehe aww I would love to see some of them some time ^^ to be honest, I have quite a bunch I haven’t drawn or uploaded on my page either. The only ones I’ve drawn a few times are Chara and Electro.
Well.. maybe one day you’ll have the confidence to make some~ Just like everything else you use your references for, the same would apply to backgrounds ^^
But honestly, I just feel there’s so much detail in a background picture I’m like “how can I use this as reference?” Maybe instead of being awed by all the details I should.. focus on the general shape of things? Maybe that might help me? XD

I just want to make a balance of characters. Some with tragic pasts, some that had a normal past, some with similar past experiences, but had different responses to it, etc. I also just like making characters. There's three of us working on our story, and I'm the one who makes the most characters. I think I do pretty decent with them. ^^ I've had to delete some because they were a bit too self-indulgent or useless, but that's to be expected. I recycle some for use elsewhere too.
I'll have to post my OCs more. Most of the drawings don't get past sketches though, haha.
uggh, yeah. Backgrounds... I don't know how to make it blend with my style. Whenever I make a background I like, I never really know how I did it. I need to use more references for backgrounds.

Yeah we’re honestly the same over here. ^^ We like making characters to write for our little stories from time to time.
(It’s been a while since I’ve planned out my main story Grimm World, but I’ve been making notes on characters for it. Mmm it’s just going to be a simple plot filled with adventure, some drama, dark moments and fun ones too xD standard ish children’s fantasy fairytale since I like that stuff. But maybe some deaths happen, who knows lol)
Mainly it’s just for fun or roleplays though that we make ours. ^^

Me too. I can just never really draw in a proper background. Only block colours hehe xD then again, I’m just really lazy most of the time to really do one cause.. it just takes me a while to make the characters, then I just feel too exhausted lol

Sometimes simple stories are a nice break from all the overly complicated drama that's all over the place. Sounds like a fun story. My little sister used to read this series called the Sisters Grimm. Not completely sure what it's about, but she liked it.
Fairytale fantasies can have some deaths. I mean, look at things like...Bambi, or Up, and whatnot.
Haha, I've definitely done roleplays. That's how my fmagalox story started out. Just a silly roleplay. It's come a long way since then though. Plot has changed quite a bit.

Same. Backgrounds are exhausting. Inking the characters is tedious enough, in my opinion. I'm playing around with some tools though, and maybe I can work on some backgrounds. Maybe. If I can ever think of something to do for them.

Yeah that one was really horrible but.. I think the Shadow Man aka mr.voodoo, has the most horrifying death. XDD being dragged in by the demons you worked with into Hell I’d say is more terrifying than anything.
That’s why.. you should never do black magic.

Well, I think there's the more physically horrifying, and the kind that's horrifying if you actually think about the implications of it. With Clayton, it hits us that he's dead because it's a way that we can see being realistically possible and undeniable. But Shadow Man's is pretty off screen. Just...poof, he's gone, with the horrible things being vaguely implied and you don't know exactly what happened to him. What do dark vodoo spirits do to people? Sorta left up to interpretation. But we know exactly what happened to Clayton.
I guess, in short, they're both pretty horrifying. One is just more...tangible, than the other.
Haha, black magic is basically begging for things to backfire horribly. But he was super cool villain and I liked him. I miss having more classic type villains. We seem to mostly just get those plot twist ones these days. They're starting to lose their impact because it's becoming expected. It's usually a question of who the bad guy is this time.
If we're determined, then it's a guarantee.

Yeah. It can still be done well. And there are still some betrayals and plot twists that get me. Man, I have one in my story that I'll go back and read sometimes and still be amazed at how well I actually pulled that off. It's like I wasn't the one who wrote it. XD
But overall, plots need to back off from the surprise villains a bit. Maybe do some more "surprise! Not actually a villain".
