So I don't normally do backgrounds or landscapes or whatever. So what better reason to do it? I just found a picture online and used it as a reference so I could practice. It's definitely more of a painterly piece. Which I also don't normally do.
I actually found this quite enjoyable, which was surprising to me. But I think I'm beginning to understand why. Normally I just want to get backgrounds over with so I can focus on the character, so that makes it tedious to try to get through it. But since there's no character here, I wasn't trying to just rush through the landscape.
