My entry for the SCAD bookmark contest. I doubt I have a chance though. If not because of my ability, then because I misread the deadline. XD But who knows. The character reading the book here is the same as my design for the Little Red Riding Hood comic that I did a year ago.Join me on Facebook!

The lighting is pretty good and all the birds in the background/foreground are cool.
Did you use a bird brush for them? Or are they all hand drawn?

It's a bird brush, it was only meant to be a placeholder but I didn't want to spend much time on it, especially because I knew I wouldn't win anyway. XD The winners honestly disappointed me...

it's unfortunate that you missed the deadline because i quite like this! you should email it to them anyway, perhaps they'll make a lil' exception.

It really hurts that I actually had it finished before the 25th, but I've gotten into the habit of waiting until moments before the deadline to submit (thanks, dA contests!). But since I got a confirmation email, unless it's automated, maybe they'll make an exception. I hope-- because somehow I feel like I have a chance, and I really do need the art supply money. OTL
