Part of a series of genetic experiments to produce kaiju that could multiply quickly with the intention of overwhelming the guardians with sheer numbers in order to retrieve Lyrados, Whom the SBF consider their property.
-Subterranean Terror- The centipede like Larvae have an unsurpassed burrowing ability and are highly adapted to survival underground. Their multiple clawed legs can gouge at the earth with great efficency, whilst underground their eyes themselves emit a bioluminescence that lights the way forward, their anntenae are highly sensitive to vibration to detect sound, footsteps etc. and the multiple sets of mandibles that constitute their mouths enable them to chew through practically any substance with enough perserverance.
-Exoskeleton- Rather than having fragile flesh sported by the juvenile forms of natural larvae, Zekrast have a tough carapace to shrug off weak physical attacks and also shield them from heat based attacks to an extent (Lyrados' affinity with fire being the inspiration for that selective mutation)
-Webspitter- The dirt, minerals and other substances a larva will come across underground, whilst being gnawed through, will be collected into its stomach where it will be dissolved by the potent acid within and reconstituted into a strong adhesive webbing like material that can be sprayed from the mouth as a projectile attack, burning and binding a foe, or used to build and repair the central hive from where they launch their assaults.
-Hive Mind- Zekrast's power lies in their numbers. Initially, several larvae will construct a small hive with their collected webbing in order to protect the queen. This queen Zekrast lays eggs constantly, which hatch and mature quickly, staying inside the hive until they have reached the first stage in their developement. Upon reaching this stage, they begin to either gather materials for fortifying the structure of the hive or stay within close proximity to it, crawling around on its surface and repairing any damage and defending the queen with their lives. These 'Guard Zekrast' will eventually reach the stage where they metamorphose, and prepare for this by consuming a surplus of materials and spinning their own coccoon which attaches to the outer wall of the hive. Once the metamorphosis is complete (Which can take as little as 24 hours) they emerge as an adult Zekrast, the deadliest form they can take, and defend the hive with lethal ferocity.
