Description

As time goes by the experiments done by Vaultec are slowly being discovered. Records recovered from an old institute archive reveal information they had retrieved from one of their own early exploratory missions. The records reveal that the cryogenic systems used in vault 111 were not first-generation systems. Vaultec had been developing the cryogenic systems as part of an experimental program they were developing in cooperation with the National Space Program (NSP). Despite all of the propaganda the government knew that their chances of coming out of the war was not good. As a fall back plan the government wanted the NSP to put together a plan to send colony ships to Proxima Centauri B. Thanks to a cooperative venture between the NSP and RobCo, a probe ship equipped with a new fusion drive made the trip in a few years. The RobCo automatons explore the planet and reported back that it was suitable for human life. Until the humans arrived the automatons would begin building and processing resources in preparation for their arrival. When they arrived, they would find settlements ready for them to inhabit.

Five colony ships were launched from Earth with their passengers in cryo-sleep. The ships were launched on a staggered schedule and on different trajectories for Proxima B to ensure that at least one ship would arrive. After years of travel the last ship arrives only to find devastation and waste. Starting with a clean slate, no baggage, no politics, no history, everyone could start a new life to become what they wanted to be. As it turns out the nature of people is slow to change, but war, war never changes.
