Description
A massive thanks goes to who made the amazing symbols for me.In this idea, I go over the 4 'classes' of the huntsmen. The term huntsman is simple and describes the profession graduates of the 4 main academies can do. I use the official Wiki fandom as my foundation of ideas.
Here are some details for those who are interested, also, I am just keeping it here.
Much like the wiki states, once the huntsmen get their licenses, they can choose whom they work for as well as the nature of their work. That simplifies it to an extent. I however had some idea of how to categorize the lines of work, while also giving them codenames. These are AU ideas.
A huntsman can be categorized into 4 classes (yes. I love the number four.)
- The Seekers (or less favorably, the Stalkers)
- The Sentinels (or by slang, the Watchdogs)
- The Sweepers (or in less fancy words, the bounty hunters)
- The Slayers (*or in simpler terms, the huntsmen we see in stories and legends.*)
I will go into more detail regarding their 'class' below. Just note: These are ideas, not canon stuff. If better ideas pop up, I will change and adapt them to suit my style and taste.
Trivia
The Symbol of the Seekers, namely arrows, comes from the Whistling arrows, a communication tool. The arrow represents them firing their findings back to their allies, willing to die to deliver them.
- The Sentinels symbol, the spear, is a weapon that is combined with a shield. A symbol of protection. To keep the Grimm at bay.
- The Sweepers symbol consists of a shotel, a greatsword without a tip, a rapier, and a falchion.
- The Slayers symbol was a hard debate, but in essence, they are the reapers. Scythes are primarily farming tools and are meant to harvest crops. Their function of maintaining both fauna and flora makes them rangers in a way. But the scythe is often associated with the Grim Reaper.
