Plot twist:
He actually has 2eyes but his eyelids just started to act derp and decided not to open fully and his left eyelid started to rip from the middle which causes the illusion to see two eyes on the left side

Partly it's just because the artists have to draw like 80 million panels a week, but I notice yardley! does it a lot in particular (maybe because hes so often the one drawing)
