I learned a lot, but I ended up failing it once because I couldn't handle the homework load. The second time I took it I spent probably 12 hours on my compliment color piece (and they started making us use our own photos) and over 18 hours on my mandala.

yeah..the workload was insane...i lost track of how many all nighters i'd pulled. who's your instructor? i used my own photo ref for this one too. We only used the ones provided by the instructor for the exercise. what's your major btw?

I had two instructors. The first as Alana Addison; she's a tough one because she's also the fine arts director for the school (If I remember correctly). The other was Kris and I forget how to spell her last name. What I meant was the second time I took the class we had to take pictures of ourselves and paint them. My second is here [link]

they grey spot reminds me of half of a yin-yang. its like shes missing a peice of herself and wants very much to find it.
this peice of art is so searching. i love it.
is that a tree on her shirt? thats what i see. it makes it even more about growth and searching, you can almost see her soul jumping out of her eyes like tree branches.
she's beautiful.

Oh god I love this! Great use of colours and the technique is so neat I hardly believe it's made traditionally with gouaches!

I really love the use of the bright yellow against the red. I never would have thought that would look goood in a painting, but it does! I think the detailing on the shirt is beautiful. This is the type of painting that I'd love hanging in my living room

it's a complementary palette of yellow n purple~and complementary colors always catch ppl eyes cuz of its contrast~
the shirt..haha close up it's juz a bunch of scribblings~it's kinda scary when i was doing it cuz it's all random~but i guess it didnt screw it up too badly n still look good from afar
