Description
This is a new version of my Thunder Grizzly composite. The background is courtesy of NASA and some bokeh action. The original model is a 1:144 scale HACS-02HG-ART Thunder Grizzly artillery command Gear. It's a mixed resin and metal model and was painted with P3 acrylics.

I got here looking for perhaps a WIP of the gear... Beautiful work btw~ Still hoping to see some in prog shots of things like the cutting/hands, etc... Curious as to how much work went over top the base model.

He didn't get mashed did he? poor guy.
Love this piece, as I love the mini used for it (you can't beat a dynamic pose)

I'm working on making a limited edition kit of this guy, we'll be selling it as an exclusive through CoolMiniorNot.com
It's probably a few months away from being available, these things always take longer than you expect.

I like it! There should be a 1440 x 900 version of this so it would fit nicely as a wallpaper on my computer!

Right now there aren't any videogames in production, but there's a tabletop wargame called Heavy Gear Blitz! and the 2nd and 3rd editions of the pen and paper Heavy Gear RPG are still be supported. I'd love to see a new videogame as well, it's a great universe and didn't get the right treatment in the TV show. Sony made the mistake of picking up two hard sci-fi mecha series in the same year for 3D animated series: Heavy Gear and Starship Troopers. It was decided that they couldn't both be marketed to the same audience (more mature viewers) and so Heavy Gear got booted into the kiddie pile. Activision did a slightly better job of it in Heavy Gear II, but the potential for multiplayer, squad-based play is huge. I'd love to see a Heavy Gear videogame go all out with the political storylines and visualize it in a cross between Armored Core For Answer and Borderlands.

There's definitely a western style mecha game drought right now. It's been ages since Heavy Gear 2 with no new one in sight (a pity really). No ones heard a peep about the next Mechwarrior game since Harmony Gold griped about the Warhammer in the trailer (bastards) and theres no other franchises I know of with any staying power (Well maybe Jovian Chronicles, don't think that got any games at all)
As for Sony and those shows, they screwed both of them, they made Heavy gear a joke, and they screwed the animators of Starship troopers by airing episodes way too soon and way to frequently leading to early cancellation on account of too many filler episodes.
