Description These are taken from the video I'm making on Inking. To me Inking is drawing so there are some concepts I think need to be understood in terms of expressing light and dark with line so I figured why not start on the most basic idea of inking: line weights.

The idea is to take a fully rendered gray scale image and represent it with line.

Graphically we associate smaller lines or no lines with an object either going far away from us or in this case closer to the light. Gray scale is represented by thick to thin creating the illusion of volume through line as well as the objects relationship to the light source.

I'll be posting the video in the next couple of days where get into more detail while showing you how it relates to an actual drawing.
