Part two:

In which Valentine discovers the Valley of the Sphinx, the future location for the Eye of Anubis clan base.

Valentine had been travelling through the desert for days before he had seen the mountain ranges on the horizon; he hadn't had water to drink for a while and was all together very much regretting stepping foot on the golden sands in the first place. He immediately headed towards them, glad that the end of the desert was in sight.
His paws were sore, and his dry tongue flopped out of his mouth like a fish - this was a mistake, definitely a big mistake. Newt will probably be on her way to find him by now, he hopes she finds him before he dies.
He heard it before he saw it- the roar of rushing water, a waterfall!
His little legs carried him faster towards its source, until the pristine blue river came into view.
He bounded to the nearest bank and lapped up as much water as he could, loudly burping once he had had his full.

It seemed that the water ran into the ground about thirty meters or so from the waterfall, Valentine thinks that if it had just decided to run above ground instead then the desert wouldn't be such a horrible place- silly river. Although....it did make him wonder where it was coming from.

Val turns his head and lifts it, following the waterfall until he spots the top- way up in the sky.
Well, there's only one way to the top. Val shifts into his alter form and grabs the edge of the first rock.
As he climbs, he wanders what he could possibly find at the top.
