Description
Without a second thought, I sprinted towards the limp body sprawled on the ground. My legs had not fully recovered yet and the addition of my backpack's weight sent me crashing down on my knees again as I approached the body's side. I had no clue what I was doing, panic overtook me as I observed the motionless man. He was fairly lean and quite tall, his raven hair slightly slicked back. He was wearing extremely strange clothing. The majority of his body was wrapped in black leather with forest green patches and his upper body was lightly decorated with golden armor. "He isn't cosplaying is he?" I questioned for a second. I reached my hand out hesitantly, frightened that a single touch would break him, but reluctantly placed it on his shoulder."H-hello?" I tapped his shoulder lightly. What the hell yo, he's obviously unconscious. There's no way he'll respond to that. I shook my head and my eyes fell on him again. It was difficult NOT to stare at his face although it was slightly covered by his hair fluttering in the wind. He had a pale complexion that highlighted his high cheekbones and slim nose. My brows scrunched together again in worry as I noticed scrapes and cuts along his skin and his eyebrows knitted in a painful scowl. I gasped, tears threatening to well up. His hand was clutched into a fist above his chest, traces of dried blood spread across his fingertips.
Gently grasping his fist, I moved it to examine his chest and was mortified to see his clothes ripped from his chest, as if he had been stabbed right through. I struggled to keep myself from vomiting at the sight, I knew I had to find a way to help him. He flinched as I moved his hand, revealing a small stone at the center of his clenched fist. My eyes widened in wonder at the shimmering black rock. I reached out and grabbed the stone, my eyes completely focused at the specks of light emitting from it. As I continued staring at it, I felt as though I was getting caught in a trance, my breaths calming and my eyes glaze over slightly. Use it. I breathed out, hovering the stone over the man's open gash. Now crush it. Slowly, my hand gripped tighter around the stone and it began to crumble, spreading over the open wound. The flecks of dust shimmered a dull green as it made contact with his skin.
As the last of the now crumbled rock seeped through my fingers, my eyes began to refocus on what I had just done. "What the- How did-" Before I could start bombarding my own conscience with questions, my attention was taken back to the glowing green dust surrounding the man's chest. My mouth gaped open at the sight; as the light began to fade, the open skin started to smooth out and stitch back together and soon enough, his skin looked as good as new with only the dried blood left tracing his chest.
Still dumbfounded at the miraculous event that just displayed in front of my eyes, a sigh escaped from my mouth, realizing I had been holding my breath the entire time. I eased up a bit, seeing that his face did not look as twisted in agony any longer. But another worry overcame me; "What am I supposed to do with him now?" I looked around my surroundings again. It was amazing that no one stirred after that earth shattering experience, but felt glad because I wouldn't have known how to respond if someone saw this scene.
I felt useless and like a complete idiot at that moment and wanted to push the feeling away. So in the spur of the moment, I slung his shoulder over mine, slowly raising the both of us up. I winced at the weight but bit my lower lip slightly to distract myself. "No way in hell am I letting someone die in front of me," I grumbled, slowly making my way towards the apartment trying to the best of my abilities to keep from dragging him like a rag doll.
After what seemed like eternity, we finally arrived home. Using the last of my strength, I found some blankets and laid it on the open floor of my room and then laying the still unconscious man on top. The LAST thing I want is Mom and Dsd freaking about blood all over the couch… I hustled over into the bathroom, grabbing a small bowl and placed it under the faucet. While I waited for the bowl to fill with water, I grabbed a towel and the first aid kit underneath the sink. Turning the faucet off, I balanced the items on both arms and walked back into my room.
My heart pounded a little at the thought of having an attractive man laying on my bedroom floor. I knelt by his side, listening quietly to check if he was still okay. His chest rose and fell slightly and I could faintly hear his breathing. I grabbed the towel and dipped it slightly in the bowl of water, then proceeded to gently wipe the blood off of his hands and chest. I was bewildered yet again as the blood was cleared from him, clearly showing no signs of the stab wound from earlier. "How did that even happen?" I gasped, gently brushing my fingertips on the non existent wound. After briefly admiring his sleeping figure, I went back and started treating the minor injuries on his face and hands and when that was completed, I proceeded to pulling him up once again, this time laying him on my bed. I didn't want an injured person sleeping uncomfortably on the floor.
I flinched a little when a grumble escaped his mouth as I pulled the covers over him, but I saw that his expression had eased up and honestly looked like he was having a peaceful rest. I grinned and sighed at the sight, feeling completely relieved and exhausted. With one last glance at the sleeping figure, I turned towards the closet and snatched my favorite (shirt color) and (pants color) pajamas and headed for the shower. I rubbed the back of my neck and let out a loud sigh.
"What have I gotten myself into?"
