Hi guys
I have been really busy lately, got a job as a 3D modeller for games and it takes most of my time, there is not much left for my own 3D stuff.
Anyway, here is the thing . My friend was about to port Definitive Edition Lara for xps. We figured out that it would be great if she had hair resambling more of a tressfx since this is DEFINITIVE Lara odf 2013. So I did this hair for him. I like to call it "TressFX reconstruction" as it is retopologised as real time mesh hair.

The bad (for you Guys) part is that decided not to release her at all and I don't really understand it, but I have to respect it. Anyway, I worked really hard to achive this effect and I wanted to show it to you guys.

Dziękuję, miło mi. Osobiście uważam, że ten render z założenia jest prosty i przeciętny, chodziło tylko o pokazanie tych włosów więc równie dobrze mogłem dać samą postać na biało. Owszem, napis dodaje temu taki trochę magazynowy wydźwięk, ale tak miało być, reklama TressFX spóźniona o 5 lat, haha
Ufff, jak dobrze że nie robię tego dla atencji i nie muszę się upadlać i tracić szacunku do samego siebie wstawiając gołe laski dla favów

Despite not being a fan of the latest rebooted version Lara, i'm ASTOUNDED by the work you guys did there!
PS. When there's an awesome 3D modeller like you I can sleep well at night knowing i don't have to worry about the way video game characters' look . I'm really hoping to work in the game industry myself someday...

Yes I did this in blender using basic tools. It is a mesh hair+ alpha texture of hand painted hair strand. Its a very popular technique of doing hair in real time game... I just did a my own twist on it, but its a seceret ... Well at least till first games from my studio are released and someone will port my models hahah
A good start is to study hair itself first. Watch how it falls, how it cursl, u need to look for a good reference pictures/videos. Then focus on learning tools that will help you achive it. Like blender. Lots of tutorials on youtube, just search for "modeling mesh hair".
A good texture is crucial also the layers of the mesh strands

Thank you. Actually this is mesh hair done by me and it is based on tressFX shape from Tomb raider Definitive Edition, (the previous version of pure hair). I like its style more, its less puffy.

I dont plan to release this exact model, it was ported by Kammy, but the hair was created by me so I might release it on some other Lara model in the future
