amazing! almost 52 years of wall crawling and web-slinging. i am a huuuuuge spider-man fanboy (check my acutal DA-ID and you get an idea) and i thought it might be time for a proper piece, its been a while since i did my last spidey drawing and his birthday is right around the corner, so here you have it. did this for fun, and damn, it was fun! going to have this baby on my wall soon, at least in din a2.
there are three versions: clean artwork version, the "oldschool variant cover" (the lettering i grow up with) and the "modern" one.
for more info, detail-shots and a small wip history check out my blog (www.kopfstoff.blogspot.com)
PS: i am going to upload this one on society6 i think, tell me if you guys want printzzz!
Daily Deviation:
What better thing then a daily deviation could there be for the start of 2015?
this is my first one two! i am speechless that my old friend and companion spider-man managed to archieve
what none of my other illustrations on my profile could do...
so glad, smiling like that cheshire cat right now,
probably for the next few days!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! for all the love, likes and comments! overwhelming - i mean it!
especially Minato-Kushina and Lyricanna , you just made my day!

"The decision to abruptly end Peter Parker and Mary Jane's
marriage and the events of "One More Day" were heavily
criticized upon the series' conclusion"
Wikipedia.
quite rightly, in my opinion! i've not read secret wars, neither
did i read one more day... last "big" story-change i've read
was no. 1 of the "new better spiderman", mr. doc oc...
that was the worst spider-man comic i've ever picked up.
man those writers these days... first they bring ruin onto
the storyline and events by adding crap for years and years,
just for the "wows - that really happend?! have to buy it!",
only to realize that it's all bs and cornered everything... so
they make stupid decissions to change it all backwards.
aunt mays unjury nor fixable, seriously?
pete making a deal with mephisto?! oh, c'mon.
i wrote it before, how is peter parker suppose to fullfill the will
of uncle ben and stand up to his responsibilitys if the writers
who dictate his live aren't able to do so? today its this (his
secret identity is revealed to the whole world) and tomorrow
its this (oh we, have to change that, to run in circles for the next
30 years of spider-man! lets add mephisto and a non-fixable
bulletshot to aunt may - oh and pete's marriage to mj? bs!)
*sigh*
i LOVE the seperate, small, unique and charming adventure
storys sometimes released. not that blockbuster, big time
world changing crap they come up with.

i like the recent spiderman stories and developments like peter working at horizon but others like his relationship status his upgraded powers lost and the fact also humberto ramos's art sometimes makes characters look weird.

signed. humberto is an incredible artist, i enjoy his
drawings a lot, too. but sometimes, just sometimes it's
a bit too much caricature, often by girls i think. well, it's
so rare, that it's not really worth a mention. he's
awesome!

Personally I'd love to push the mainstream comic version of Spidey off the Empire State Building while shackled for making a deal with the Devil over the wishes of his dying elderly aunt.

Yea, in Joe Quesada and J. Michael Strazynski's One More Day, during the awful Civil War saga, since Spider-Man revealed his true identity to the world, he was targeted by a sniper hired by the Kingpin, but instead of hitting Peter Parker the bullet hit Aunt May instead.
Basically, apparently no-one in the Marvel Universe knows how to heal a bullet wound (including Doctor Strange, Reed Richards, Hank Pym, the Beast, the entirety of Wakanda (Black Panther's country) or even Doctor Doom or Doctor Octopus), Peter Parker is a man-child who can't EVER bear a loved one dying (found out about this story after my grandmother died, so apparently Peter losing his aunt is WAY worse whan me losing my grandma, or anyone else losing any of their loved ones) and apparently making deals with the Devil (in this case Mephisto) is a-okay even when said dying relative wants to finally be at peace (further infuriating that she could've been reunited with her husband who's beed dead for who knows how long now).
Basically, due to NOT wanting to take responsibility for his actions, Spider-Man gives up his marriage with a woman he loves to save the life of someone old who is at peace with passing on, since the writers can't bear the fact that characters can grow up and mature like real people and get married, have kids, yada-yada.
And in the comic right after One More Day Mary Jane gets shot and Doctor Strange heals HER bullet wound and Peter is immediately making out with some new girl named after Quesada's daughter.
"With great power comes great responsibility" my arse. I loved Spider-Man since I was six. Now I absolutely loathe him as one of the worst superheroes ever.

woha, thanks for the inside infos... wtf is going on with writers
these days?! i really enjoyed the spider-island saga (even tho
i didn't know how to react to the fact that pete works for horizon
instead of beeing photographer or somethin' and i don't like the
sidekick characters working sidebyside with him there and all the
ultra hightech-gadgets - anyway...), but after that, doc oc became
spider-man, and i was like: WTF!? i buyed the first comicbook of that
"new and better spiderman" and didn't even finish reading it, it was
that bad. i've heard that fans all over the world blamed the writer and
even send him deathnotes and stuff (which is ofc a nogo!) but what he
did still is bs imho...
and now you come and tell me about the next crap-saga in the making.
good that i missed that! i've had the "one more day" book in my hand
some times at the comic-book-store, but never bought it, now i know why.
spidey revealed his identy to the world? aunt may was hit by a bullet and
no one could help her? he gave up the marriage to mj (?!) which could be
healed after a bullet hit but spidey has a new "love" already? daaaamn.
there are some good spider-man reads out there still, mostly the small storys
in the standard comics by new/unknown writers, but all that hyped "we turn
everything arround" bs, the big ones come up with is hard to swallow really.
just wait and see, in a few months aunt may comes back, alive and pete runs
back to mj. *sigh* - same with the end of spider-octopussy - marvel saw that
the fans hated it and then it was peter parker again.
even the writers and producers can't take responsibility for their actions i think.
don't blame spidey himself, man. blame the authors/writers... and maybe the
illustrators too if they f*** up the drawings.

Like Linkara, I swore to not read any Spider-Man stories past One More Day until they actually undo the deal with Mephisto. And I don't mean just get Peter and MJ married again, I mean actually get rid of the deal, and that doesn't have to be in a Spider-Man comic. Could be Ghost Rider, Thor, Doctor Strange or whatever to have a go at Mephisto which results in his deals getting taken back and then some.
The most infuriating thing is that writers don't want characters to advance; before the deal with Mephisto Peter Parker had left the Daily Bugle and became a high school teacher. The Horizon stuff came after One More Day and I think that is actual advancement. What made the final draft of One More Day suck more is that they actually had SOME good ideas behind it; for example Gwen Stacy would've been alive again. But NO, the writers didn't want to do their jobs and instead went with the lazy route.
I read six issues of Superior Spider-Man myself just to see if the Doctor Octopus possession made him more responsible, but seeing J. Jonah Jameson praising Spider-Man and having Spider-Man KILL the villain Massacre with a GUN (and Doctor Kafka was killed in that same issue by Massacre) just made me go "No, just nooo...".
