I wonder is Skye is physically going to grow even more. I mean, she has feathers, so basically she would become the first accurate velociraptor in JP.
But hey, just a wonder :3 Cool work btw. Iβm lreally liking the comic so far!

Thank you! I'm happy to hear you like the comic!
Her anatomy won't change towards accuracy to what her Mesozoic ancestors would have been like, other than growing a full plumage of feathers. I'm afraid she's stuck with her pronated wrists and the like, and will have to figure out how to make features like wing feathers work on those, as the differences extend to her bone structure. It would be cool to have actual scientifically accurate raptors in JP/W media, though! Maybe some day.

Youβre very welcome!!:3
I would like to see some accurate velociraptors in the JW Universe (maybe in the third movie We will se this). Your idea of Skye is pretty cool! I canβt wait to see her all fluffed up.

I like that idea. There were theories with him and Maisie, that maybe he didn't want to kill her at first.
He was curious. He wanted to touch her. He could have killed her immediately a few times. If she wouldn't have screamed so much...

I don't think he wanted to kill Maisie at first either. The first time he sees her he's never seen a human that small, and he could obviously have hurt her instead with how close she was to the cage, so I think he was mostly curious about what she is. And I like the idea that both of them are part-human part-raptor hybrids to some extent, and maybe something about her is oddly familiar to him. That said, it's not unlikely for the conclusion he would have reached about her to still be prey, just maybe not immediately. The running away and screaming probably helped that decision a lot, not that I blame her. Maybe her screams even sound like the laser gun's sound signal to him.
I don't think there's much chance of them to have been able to interact in a way that wouldn't have gotten at least one of them hurt under the circumstances they got. But I've seen a few reimaginings where they met when he was much younger and smaller, in which case he might have ended up seeing Maisie as a parental figure, with her being less afraid of a tiny dinosaur and nicer to him than his other caretakers had bothered to be. Still might not have ended well in the long run, considering the small, cute dinosaur grows quickly into a big and dangerous one, and even if he had still seen Maisie as family, we've got the same problem as with Owen and Blue, where the big, carnivorous wild animal raised by humans may not want to hurt the human that raised them (though hurting that human, too, by accident or just instinct overriding that bond isn't exactly an impossible scenario, a.k.a. why tigers aren't pets) but is still a danger to the other humans that their human lives around.
I don't know about the Indoraptor seeing Maisie as a child to adopt instead of the other way around. He thinks of Skye as his child because she's Blue's child and Blue is his packmate, and one headcanon I have about JP/W raptor packs with how social they are is that they parent their chicks communally, so it's instinctual to the raptor part of him at least, to look after her as his own even though he and Blue are not a pair when they have Skye and he knows she's not his offspring. But if he found an orphaned raptor chick on his own, would he adopt it? I had other JP/W raptors do so in a fanfic, so I guess it depends on how well he'd recognize Maisie as raptor, as his experiences with humans haven't exactly primed him to see them as kin.

Yees, my point exactly.
They're still wild animals. People tend to forget that quickly, because all they want it a cuddle pet. But wilflife does not work that way.
Makes me think of how a chick of Blue and Indo might look like, if they'd mated.Β

The feathered baby raptor in the comic is called Skye. I'm not entirely sure if that's what you're asking?

Does the juvenile have feathers because it was born naturally, so all the genetic modifications Blue had to make her more like the original strain of raptors, they're not in the juvenile?

kosmonauttihai In reply to maxvision92 [2019-10-25 06:48:13 +0000 UTC]
It's a bit of a mystery why she ended up with feathers, not necessarily because she wasn't made in a lab, but something to do with their Mesozoic ancestors being feathered, yes. The scaly JP/W raptors seem to have some traits reflecting that, too, with the quills, and possibly the bumps on Blue's head that could perhaps be underdeveloped feathers, so having feathers seems like a pretty resilient quality about them. On this individual at least, it's manifesting in this way.
