i'm pretty much disappointed lately by all the people who prefer positive themes in photography. vivid warm colors, smiles and all that c--p. and they're not saying it out loud of course, they just tend to
like crazy any tanned girl in orange swimsuit and... that's it, nothing else matters at this point. and of course they ignore everything else. it's a good thing minor key is normal and respected in music. what's so wrong about some pain and drama in photography?© 2009 Konstantin Alexandroff (Dirty Angels .Net -- [link] )

well, my guess is that people are going towards warm photography, because the thoughts of actual world ("crisis" and that stuff) is scaring even those who are not directly touched, therefore they want only "good karma" and nice little things.
Non the less, I really like this capture, espically the pose with thos long fingers

Definitely right for music! Like Julia Merenges said about tango: it is a music of sadness but it does not mean people who like tango are sad people. They just have a different relation with sadness and gloomy feelings.
I didn't think in any way you were not a happy person hehe. Just that only happiness is a desire most people have; a shame.
The post process made on the capture are really nice, then again, for they do not alter the status of the model or the picture. \o/

Beautiful shot. I love the aura of light around her head that deepens the darkness of the rest of the picture. This shot reminds me of the song Thy Raven Wings by My Dying Bride, a band who isn't afraid of dealing with the darker aspects of emotion and music.

Maybe people just prefer to see happy cheerful things with no hint of a problem, because that's what everybody wants to feel like and it's easiest to suck feelings from pictures. About music, people like to hear how they actually feel.
I like this photo very much, and I think it could be better if it had a bit stronger colours, maybe just of the sky. But it is powerful already

i don't mind people being happy, i don't believe i can ruin it by showing something like this. i thought happy people like sad stories too.
and the coloring is all made by me, i actually prefer such dull colors, can't help it. thank you!

Ah, the never-ending battle between impressing the masses and expressing oneself.
I, for instance, am going to do more dark photography soon. In the mean time there is so much to learn for me about composition and lighting.
I really wish a day had 48 hours.
