A while back, ran an art jam where we created a super-hero team called 'The Solution'. Here's the link to my entry:[link]
Now it's time to bring on the bad guys - naturally enough called 'The Problem'!
Here's my entry - long time viewers of my work will already know that I have a bit of a thing about spiders - so when I think 'scary' - I think spider! My Next X series had a spider-villain - coloured some of the covers and has this one on her DA page: [link]
So, following my arachnaphobic theme, here's my villain - Colony!
(He was going to be called 'Spiders-Man' but good sense prevailed at the last moment!)

LOL - you're into spiders? never would have guessed! I'm looking into doing commissions at the moment actually, so I'll post something when i get organised! If you don't want to pay (and I don't imagine I would charge very much!) then I might do a request for free if I get the time to fit it in, but it would depend on what the request is of course!

Secondly. pardon my stupidity with Next-X..thought it was an actual comic series, not a reimagination and web-based only...I got excited cause I love spiderwomen and wanted to see the Spider Queen in tthe comic...
Anyway generally I dont pay for commissions, cause I want to stay anonymous mostly. This spiderweb/spiderwoman fetish of mine has offended many people, including some on DA..thats why, cause I dont know how I could commision someone without giving out personal details...

I wouldn't want to do anything too creepy, if you get my meaning. You've seen my stuff - the Spider Queen cover is about as grim as I'd want to get. Just let me know in a note what you have in mind - I'd only do a free pic if I had time and if the picture interested me - so I can't say more until I know what you want me to draw!

Since I love Spider Queen some much would you be able to draw another pic of Spitfire fighting her,as a one-off?
Perhaps Spider Queen has caught her on the web, she is now cocooning Spitfire more heavily and Spitfire is gagged & coconed unable to free herself without help...

It's been while since I've drawn them! OK, no promises - but if I get a moment and the mood takes me, I'll see what I can do. I've been considering re-inventing Spitfire in a non-Next-X context - removing the Marvel universe/fan fiction connections - so this might be a chance to do that. I'm very busy at the moment though so it may be quite a while before I get round to it.

If you like, another idea is to put SQ against the Jessica Drew Spiderwoman, who loses because she cant spin webs like SQ.
So JD becomes the cooned and gagged one....

Thanks! It didn't take all that long to draw - most of the spiders are just scribbled in really - but iut took ages to colour! Really should have thought of that when I was drawing him! Thanks a lot for the

Nice character man, loving the grossness. You need to do a pic with this guy, strangling Vigil, with bugs crawling all over her and maybe into her mouth.
That will really add the gross points! ^_^

LOL! Hasn't she suffered enough this week? That would be majorly creepy! Funny how this guy started off as a throwaway picture just for the Problem art jam, but he may well end up developing into a proper character - if not for Vigil then certainly somewhere.

it's odd.. I do have nightmares sometimes where I'm being attacked by big spiders, which is terrorfying at the time, but when I wake up I always think "WTF?! why spiders? .. I'm not even bothered by them!" o.O ... which is probably just as well, cos as you can see from these photos, we get some bloody big buggers in our house: [link]

Ah - dreams are just weird - those were probably metaphorical spiders, so they probably mean fear of committment or unresolved issues with a distant relative, or something like that!

re: dreams.. yeah, as I understand it, they're the brain's way of disengaging emotional responses which haven't been acted upon during the day... so something must have scared me but I never reacted to it, and that's what lead to the dream about scary spiders... weird.
