Well nothing decided finally yet. Emotionally and physically she's late teens - early twenties I guess, but as she's from a far distant future in which the human race may live substantially longer, she may actually be chronologically older.
How's that for a neatly dodged answer?

Well technicly you can choose to do other people too. I started on a picture for it before the random date thing came in, I'm intending to finish it.

ANd OMG!!! I was in a comicbook store in london, and i saw an old comic and the character on the cover looked exactly like Vigil! I cant remember the name of the comic, it was like wolf something, darkness....something...i cant remember. i shoulda bought it. ^_^

SHe seemed to be in distress, and i think something was behind her, possibly attacking her, or she was summoning something behind her...i dont remember, but she seemed quite old. not granny old, but 40 maybe.

cool reference yo, s'good to find out some vigil facts that I wasn't aware of 
the way you describe her costume reminds me of the yoga view of the body, in that we have 5 "sheaths" ... a physical body, a karma body, a consciousness body etc ... interesting stuff

Wow that's really interesting - sort of links in to Vigil's 'mind over matter' ethos doesn't it. Might have to investigate this further! Glad you like this anyway - hopefully it will come in handy for August!

That's really interesting - thanks for sending the link (and sorry for delay in responding - I wanted to read it properly first!) I don't think I'll make any direct link to this in the comic - partly because I'm not sure I completely understand it and I don't want to offend anyone if I get it wrong! However it does make a lot of sense that Vigil's powers are in some way linked to a deeper understanding/self control. I've already drawn pictures of Vigil in meditation poses (The Bill fight from the last AFL fight for example) and I might reference yoga a little more in the comic - not directly - but imply some kind of connection - I don't know. It certainly seems to suit her

I've learnt about really cool things, like breathatarians (people who don't eat actual food! o.O ) different breathing techniques/hand postiions which have many different controlling effects over different aspects of the body system, and meditation tecniques which activate the human/newer parts of our brains (because many of us are still existing out of our old animal/reptillian brains) ... and many many more stuff! it's great :]
