This is my entry for 's character design contest, for her character The Watcher.
She said she liked heavier built horses, and unusual RL colouring, so I had a little think over this guy.

The first thing that came to mind for unusual colouring was to give him a different sort of patterning, like pintaloosa. But then I figured that was a bit obvious, and if he was the lookout for the herd a loud white pattern would make him too visible to intruders. (Yah, I perhaps thought about this a bit too much. )
So I went hunting for some of the most unusual and rare patterns I could find. -> Equinecolor.com

I played with the idea of giving him Lacing, Bloody Shoulder Marks and a whole heap of others, and he went through the entire spectrum of colours possible (he went through a LOT of drafts) but I finally settled with a sort of Brindle, because it is seriously the weirdest pattern on a horse I now know of. Grey Brindle .

Of course, I took some artistic liberties. >_> My bad.

Coming up with a name was utterly, utterly impossible.

All in all, a lot more work than I thought it would be. I'm off to bed now.
