My entry for 's contest, to design her a sculpture.

Eh. Well, it's another Kirin-flavoured equine. I just love combining eastern and western mythologies. I figured I'd do something horsey as my first entry (we're able to submit two, I'll submit my second one later this week) since unicorns are her speciality.

About the Kirin, from wiki-
The Qilin (Chinese: 麒麟), also spelled Kirin (Japanese) or sometimes Kyrin, is a mythical hooved Chinese chimerical creature known throughout various East Asian cultures, and is said to appear in conjunction with the arrival of a sage. It is a good omen that brings rui (Chinese: 瑞; roughly translated as "serenity" or "prosperity"). It is often depicted with what looks like fire all over its body. It is sometimes called the "Chinese unicorn" due to conflation with the unicorn by Westerners.

(The reason for the connection with the Western Unicorn is, I think, because they're both pure beings that counteract evil (poison in the unicorn's case))

So ya. Colouring strongly influenced by the african Bongo antelope. Kept it basically horsey except for the exaggerated long neck, and Kirin influences like the "fire", pronged horn and fleshy whiskers. Also, those "dapples" aren't; they're me being lazy with suggesting scales. Could turn em into dapples if scales are too much of a pain though.

I'd love to see her make it simply because there are elements in there I would have no idea how to tackle. Like how you'd make his/her (couldn't decide) hair look fiery. And those whiskers might have to be abandoned.
