Peridot (pronounced pear-a-doe) is the gem-quality variety of olivine. While the mineral olivine is quite common, peridot is quite rare and is often mistaken for emerald.

*cackle* Done within the same day without any refs ladies and gentlemen! Believe if you will, cause I sure as heck can't.

I dunno, something happened with this work that also happened with my Hyourinmaru piece- I got so involved with replicating the look of the medium (in this case light on crystal) that I forgot to stress about whether it looked good. And for some reason that helps me.

I'll be using this for my stable page on the horse SIM equidaem.com. Sad that I go so overboard, isn't it?
