Still a "Work in Progress"Just thought I'd share what I'm up to so far with my idea for this pegasus,

Woots!!!! I actually kinda like how it turned out, lmao. I did change my mind about the color of the mane and tail, lol. Once I had it all done and I looked at it, it was just too much green, lmao. I love the brown better,

First off, I love the idea behind the idea of the design and the elements you placed to surrport that, Like the wings for example. However there are a few details that can be fixed, like the eye. The eye's placement is to far forward and should be more towards the cheek. Also the horses eye should be parallel to the head position. Furthermore the inner back leg should be moved more to the right, so the horse doesn't look like it trapping. One other thing is that even though you don't have a background you should at least have a directional source of lighting instead of an undefined and inconstant lighting. The wings need fixing too, I think with more structure and making them big enough to carry the horses weight when he flys they will be perfect. I recommend you use a reference for the wings. But, overall the artist does show a good command over horse anatomy, and has nice movement going though the figure of the horse. I also enjoyed the pic and can't wait to see the finished product. I have been looking through tutorials on wings lately and recently did a very detailed set of wings on "Chase the Wind" project, but I later discovered a mistake that I used the wrong tutorial when I went to start drawing, so the wings on that horse are technically upside-down, 
As far as the horse anatomy is concerned, I'll admit that I might need to fix the rear hooves from the pastern down, but other than that, I was using a reference picture to get the pose and angle right - [link]
And yes, I am still trying to get the lighting right. But, I'm not too focused on a main light source because I plan to use this as part of a long series of unique pegasus "coats" to be used for an online horse simulation game, which only allows the showcase of the horse, never backgrounds; transparent.

Yay!! Thank you!! I don't know if you play the online game, Howrse.com at all, but they recently added a limited-time item called the 5th Element and it deals with the 4 basic elements and then a 5th Metal element, random chance to get one on your horse. Well, the "Earth" one they have just looks like a horse made out of mud that has started to dry, to it has cracks all over it, hehe. I think they should've made something closer to this concept, lmao. But that's just my opinion,

I could not agree with you more about the earth element. I think your version would have been much more appealing as well as having been in much higher demand. Their "mud coat " while i do not mean to be derogatory.. looked a tad unappealing. Their wind,fire and water coats had much more creativity behind them. ( I did not care for the metal coat looked .. unimaginative)

Yeah, I've thought about just using a photo, but the problem is that it clearly doesn't match the medium for the horse, so [to me] they always clash,
So, I'm hoping that I can just use a bunch of different landscapes, etc to draw something myself that will fit, hehe.

I love the idea of his wings being made of branches and leaves. This is amazing - I love the color scheme, you know the instant you see him that he belongs to the forest/jungle.

Oh, the wings are ivy! That's very cool! I couldn't tell what they were from the thumbnail, but in the full-size I can see all the little leaves, etc.

I love that idea!! I didn't know what was looking wrong with the wings and I didn't like how the leaves covered so much of the "skeleton" of branches, lol. And I'll see what I can do about the body, lol
