Description
EDIT 16/10/2010I really, really, really appreciate all the faves (and even moreso the comments) that you lovely people leave on this piece. It makes me feels warm and fuzzy inside (troofax). Still, I'd love it even more if you took a few minutes to browse the rest of my gallery. I have a lot of pretty diverse stuff in there, and I'm sure you'll find something else to your liking

God! love the colors. I think this might one of the best of Steven Wilson. If its true about the lame materials, sir, you are a master! you can translate the medium so well...

Those colours are awesome! It's perfect for him, as if the music was truly washing over him.

I absolutely adore this. You've not only managed to capture his likeness very well, but I think you also portrayed part of his essence and his music also. I think the play with the colors and shapes reflects Porcupine Tree's more psychedelic atmospheric sound. And I like the contrast with the darkness and the bright vivid colors (also a visual representation to some of Wilson's music/lyrics perhaps), it definitely makes you think of the lighting of a concert stage, which can be tricky to represent correctly. Very impressive work. I even like the use of the "uber-cheap" pencils, the texture gives it character I think, if it was too perfect it would lose a certain quality to it as a Steven Wilson piece...if that makes sense.

Love the blocky colouring and the highlights, it's so effective. Wouldn't think you used cheap ones in a million years. Just gorgeous.

I've been pretty good, trying to join the Air Force at the moment. Hopefully that will work out for me. In any case, good to see and hear from you again.

Wow! The colors are absolutely incredible! And as you say you had to use cheap ones, I assume the awesomeness came directly from you, ^^ Great piece, I love how on the neck the colors are all very bold and solid, yet on the shirt you manage to blend them, looks wonderful!

It is! I've seen plenty of realistic drawings done, but I've come across very few with such a risky and creative use of colors. And seeing it work just makes it better!
