Description A few weeks ago, I said I had a redesign for Rain in the works. Well the wait is over!

The entire premise for this redesign was a what-if scenario in which Rain discovers his mother's heritage which turns out to be from an underwater Edenic kingdom that was created after coastal refugees escaped Kahn's onslaught on mainland Edenia and became the realm's version of Atlanteans.

Obviously as a hydromancer and to fit the theme, I thought it would be fitting to give Rain a three-pronged trident. The middle fork is divided into multiple spikes that can be extended to impale enemies or grapple onto enemies and drag them towards the three prongs. The electricity around the trident fits since Rain does control lightning in his special moves.

I gave him typical black gauntlets and golden armguards, but I made a mistake for the right hand in blackening it when it should have shown his fingers so it looks like he twisted his right arm. Eww. The black leggings were inspired by Injustice Aquaman.

I kept his purple color for his open-chested garment, but I added a few green wavy designs over the purple wavy background. This is supposed to represent seagrass moving under the wave currents in an ocean setting. I kept his blank pants short because why would you need long pants to impede your ability to swim?

Since this was dealing with an Atlantean theme, I decided to ditch the veil. I also kept his golden crest from his other MK costumes with an upside-down A symbol, along with the golden accessory around his neck from his MKX costume.

One of the most interesting design choices I made was to give him a tribal tattoo of a sea monster on his bare chest. This was inspired by a real prehistoric creature called a mosasaur, but in this MK universe, it's supposed to be some sort of "Eel Dragon." Maybe it's the Edenic version of sea serpents who taught the underwater people hydromancy in contrast to Orin and Caro's pyromancy on the mainland. Plus it would be cool to contrast Rain with his other brothers Taven and Daegon in the design of the tattoo.

Along with the sea dragon tattoo, I added other archiac sea creature elements such as an ammonite emblem in the middle of his belt. The belt itself contains Atlantean Edenic hieroglyphs. The golden shinguards are also in the shape of trilobites, extinct bottom-dwelling arthropods.
