Description
Each leg of the Mantimune can act as a spring-loaded razor, recoiling into its foreleg and being released with incredible pressure at blinding speeds. It hides among the vibrant fauna of forests, waiting for unsuspecting prey to wander too close.Related content

Mantids have got to be my all-time fave, you know they can be semi-domesticated?? After about 5 minutes of holding, they will become comfortable letting you pet them and can be kept fairly well as pets! When I was a kid, my dad would let me put one on our house plant and we would find it randomly around the house, just chilling on the curtains, etc. Could let it climb on my finger and take it outside without worrying about it flying away (although that's always a possibility, obviously). But yeah, they are not only one of the most efficient predators, but also one of the most intelligent insects around

oh damn that sounds cool, makes me want one more now x3 they have so many interesting subspecies too and i love how efficient they are as predators x3 they can even serve as effective pest control in your garden if you let them loose. its weird too because they are in the same family as roaches and termites xD

I honestly had no idea they shared a family with roaches! To think,my favoritw insect is so closely related to my absolute least favorite xD I swear, I am fine with black widows, ticks, you name it, but one thing that always 'bugs' me is roaches, I never EVER feel comfortable around them. I tend to have a distaste for pests in general, flies and mosquitoes included... But the sight of roaches has a tendency to make me physically ill, like I don't even want to kill them because even their guts gross me out lol, i cant explain it any better than that. If we could replace all the roaches around the globe with mantids, I'm pretty sure world peace would be just around the corner

Ughhh... roaches in my sleep? Just kill me now >_<
I keep a clean home, but my apartment complex is just so busted there's no way to get rid of them entirely. Almost 75% of the reviews for it online complain of poor management and roaches in every cupboard... Luckily I don't have them that bad, but still to see one just chilling in the living room every once in a while is enough to send chills down my spine |:3

yeah same,i try to keep my townhouse well kept but fun fact and this SOMEHOW makes the little bastards more gross, they are actually ...very clean insects, contrary to popular belief cockroaches arent attracted to filth, they mostly enter when theres poorly sealed food items lying around, they even carefully groom themselves and i remember seeing this show on animal planet i think where it showcased several cases of them going into really clean homes... im not sure why but it makes them worse for me xD
