Description
The location where the majority of my projects in the "Incursion Saga" take place. The location is loosely based on northern Virginia as well as my own dreams. Here is a list of locations from top to bottom and from left to right:Appa Ski Park: A ski resort located at the very top of the Appa Mountains. It is famous for it's incredibly large amount of snowfall each year, sometimes up to 4 feet of snow! Some people live her in quaint, tiny houses, and it is a popular place for retirees to head to once they're done with work, especially if they like cold weather.
Villa Town: A quaint little village located on the edge of a lake. It is home to the Centerfield Movie Theater as well as numerous seaside restraunts and a children's park. It has a lot of Greek and Italian immigrants living there who fled Europe during World War 2.5, so the town has a distinct south Europeans feel. The houses are square and made of pure white marble with blue lining. It is very picturesque, but a lot of rich people live here so it sort of dulls the atmosphere.
Neo Park: A hyper-advanced theme park which while small, hosts incredibly advantaged technology which makes it world-famous. Full Dive VR is it's main attraction, which while very expensive ($100 every 10 minutes of game time) allows one to enter the game themselves and live out their fantasies as anyone they choose. There is also an AI movie theater where the audience can directly interact with the characters due to advanced AI and a snack bar selling all sorts of tasty treats. It's ultimate rival is Adventureland, who has their theme park right below Neo Park separated by a large bridge. Adventureland holds a grudge against Neo Park for stealing it's customers, so both parks have a heated rivalry with each other and countless conspiracy theories have spawned from their conflict.
Adventureland: An over 100-year old theme park that has been popular with families for ages, but recently has been losing a lot of popularity with the public. Unlike Neo Park Adventureland focuses on real-life authentic adventures such as it's ever changing "castle dungeon" attraction, it's large Savana hosting fully docile and trained exotic animals, a large park perfect for hiking, biking, or running, organized capture the flag games, tons of different rides and attractions, and countless other things.
Rumble Road: An incredibly rocky road that gives beginner drivers some trouble. Links most of Centerfield with Villa Town, forcing many to travel across it's perilous road to get to the movie theater. (the normal one)
Centerfield Primary School: A school encompassing elementary, middle, and high school separated into different buildings. It is famous in the country for being one of the best schools in the country, massively boosting the price of the houses surrounding it. Many characters either have gone to this school or are going to this school currently.
Sunken Temple Ruins: The ruins of an ancient, sunken temple of indiscriminate origins. The building doesn't seem to be linked to any currently practiced religion, and many questions have been raised about the site's origins and the strange relics carried within...
Centerfield Community College: The college that most people who got their education at Centerfield Primary School end up due to it's low costs and high admission rates. It is known for having generally poor teachers, but also some very good ones. Many major characters attend this school.
Artificial Lanes: A road cut out of a large mountain, making these lanes artificial. This is where the Centerfield Airport is located.
The Hills of Doom: The road connected CFCC with the rest of centerfield. It is infamous for it's winding roads, sharp turns, and large hills making it incredibly unpopular with children, especially children with queasy stomachs. Many requests to the governor have been made to cut out all the hills, but all requests have been denied.
Gameplace: Centerfield's leading video game store that sells used and new video games from every console. It is the place that multiple characters work their day jobs including Asuna, Noel, and Rueben. It had an incident 10 years ago where some maniac pepper sprayed the CEO and tried to run him over with their car, and somehow they got away with all that without going to jail. They were banned from the place permanately though, but most people have forgotten the incident and moved on. If only they remembered...
Centerfield Mall: A sprawling mall that is somehow still incredibly active despite most malls across the country shutting down. It hosts many secret areas and a hidden black market that only opens at night to sell all sorts of bootleg goods. For some reason, the mall has a sort of negative aura, having people who visit it frequently have nightmares about it...
Convention Center: A place where a lot of conventions are held, both degenerate and not. Rueben's favorite hang out spot along with his friends Alexis and Sal.
Centerfield Port Town: The primary shopping district and general meeting place of centerfield that also hosts a large amount of housing. It is famous for it's fishing industry, high quality food, and kind population. This is where Noel lives in her dad's seaside house and where Asuna lives in her parent's apartment above a pottery shop.
Funfin Waterlands: A indoor water park full of all sorts of fun activities. It is famous for it's lend-able nanotech enhanced mermaid suits that allow people to live out their fantasies under the sea, but they are very expensive and inexplicitly "only for girls" as per the governor's orders. After the incursion, it became a warzone between actual mermaids and the elder demons, just like it was in the deep sea 8,000 years ago...
Helberg's Home for the Delusional and Insane: A group home for the mentally ill helmed by Steven Helberg, a councilor and part-time lawyer. It was once home to the false one before their second arrest after committing arson on Floormart due to their pony toys not being the type they liked, and the residents, while mostly insane, still resent that person for their absolutely wild behavior, even for them.
Smalltown Centerfield: A quaint little suburban town full of tiny houses and the only actually affordable place to live in this area. It is home to many of the town's religious institutions and is home to Centerfield's best ice cream shop, Pearsons, which famously sells pear-flavored icecream as one of it's over 100 flavors. (it's actually really good) This is where Reuben lives as well as where the False One used to live in a house that used to stand where the toxic bog is now.
Floormart: The city's local convivence store selling pretty much anything anyone could ever need. Food, clothes, furniture, electronics, toys, games, jewelry, cosmetics, you name it, they sold it. It was the subject of an arson attack 5 years ago, but most people have forgotten about that incident now. If only they remembered...
Highway to Hell: A highway infamous for it's incredibly high traffic due to only having two lanes. Do all the roads here suck or something?
Hotel Malith: A wolf-themed hotel with it's own water park, restraunts, and shopping areas as well as a uber popular AR game called "Magician Adventures." Strangely enough, it's most popular restaunt "Animal Creek" traumatized many kids with it's animatronics, especially the gigantic talking moose head and arms plastered on the wall.
Seaside Woods: Woods that are often explored by younglings where they play all sorts of games like headhunter and capture the flag. This is where Shelk and Rox from the Xenoknights series were found by Reuben and his friends, who had lost their memories after traveling to this world.
Abandoned Xenoland Park: A failed theme-park themed after the Xenoknights franchise. The creators of the park overestimated the popularity of the series, so while the park was very popular to series fans it failed among the general populace, forcing it's closure after 6 months when their main roller coaster, the "Raintime," crashed and killed 6 people. Their ghosts are rumored to haunt the abandoned park to this day, prompting many ghost hunters to go look for them with limited success.
Centerfield Regional Jail: A highly secured prison where the false one is currently being held without bail for multiple accounts of armed robbery, arson, incest, rape, and assault. It is also where Reuben's father is being held after being framed for being in charge of a drug trafficking ring.
The Black Box: A semi top secret facility owned by the government who's job it is to test out new, currently developing technology to see it's effects and risks. It also doubles as a military facility where government agents part of the secret O.P.T.I.C. branch train to combat the supernatural. It is heavily guarded, far more so than the pentagon or Area 51, primarily because it where the Zohar Artifact, key to all worlds, is being held. However, very recently it was stolen by a government worker who then immediately disappeared from the public eye, and a current search is going on in the shadows to find whoever stole it and recover the artifact.
