Description "The Comedian" from "Watchmen"

Based on his movie appearance, I did this for (it's his birthday, say happy birthday to him dammit, lol!)

If you've read Watchmen or seen the movie, this dude needs no introduction

The actor who played him (name escapes me) in the movie did an AMAZING job, I have a problem deciding whether him or Rorschach was the better performance (in my opinion, lol)

Can't wait for the director's cut of the movie when it comes out in July!!

Love it! The Comedian is totally my favorite. I don't know why! After all, I'm a lady and he's a rapist (among other things). I just can't help it!!! D:

Maybe it's because I thought Robert Downey Jr. played him for the first part of the movie, but his actor isn't RDJ. BAH! Must get head checked. Anyway, I completely agree, That-Guy-Who-Isn't-Robert-Downey-Jr. and Rorschach were the best in the movie!!

lol well the actor who played him did an AWESOME job making you at least sympathize with him despite his flaws and bad history, so that went a long way

The movie was okay, partially due to Dr. Manhattan, no costume equals no fun

YES. Did I ever tell you I love how smooth you make the lines and colors? Well, now I did.

And the Comedian is great...ah, Watchmen...good stuff.

Of course! I like seeing different takes on things, as I do it myself too, and it's fun! I'm fiddling with my weirdness with wanting to draw a bunch of the TFs in ref sheet mode, (mostly when I try and attempt doing my TF fancomic thing...ATTEMPT) so many of them though...and that isn't even including the OCs, lol.

And oooh that would be cool!

Its funny, ever since Dreamwave crashed and burned people dont seem so afraid to experiment and go wild with their creativity towards TFs and other characters. Variety is the spice of life!

Hehe, true that, true that. Now, if I can wrap my head around it and stick with it, that would be ace. Got a bad problem with second guessing myself a bit too much, LOL. But true, variety is key.

Oh man, second guessing is SUCH a pain, lol it took me YEARS just to "sorta" be able to push myself past second guessing, it stopped me from getting anything done for a long long time

Ahhh i'm still in that position, BUT i'm slowly, SLOWLY beating it back...back with the pencils of doom, apparently. Though i'm left now getting mad at anything that isn't TF related in some way, LOL. If it's not one thing, it's the other. ><;

That's a very Bruce Timm looking Comedian, but I like it a lot. Captured his snarkiness in a Saturday Morning kind of way.

KrisSmithDW In reply to savagelucy42 [2009-08-14 10:07:07 +0000 UTC]

Timm and X-Men Evolution have seemed to be my most notable influences as of late, dunno why X-Men Evolution, but Timm's a legend its hard not to take elements from him when aiming for animation influenced artwork. Glad ya like it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

savagelucy42 In reply to KrisSmithDW [2009-08-14 15:40:57 +0000 UTC]

I always feel like Evolution was Marvel's answer to all the Timm designed DC shows like JLU. So it's a similar sort of style.

KrisSmithDW In reply to savagelucy42 [2009-08-15 07:59:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah and it seems like some of their other animated projects kinda followed the same sorta vibe Evolution had, the new Wolverine and the X-Men is a good example, as is the Ultimate Avengers movies.

yeah, he was AWESOME. So strange to have a character that does such awful things yet you feel so sorry for him and are upset at his death. And he's nuts, so thats a plus, lol :-P

VMenFangirl In reply to KrisSmithDW [2009-07-23 01:44:18 +0000 UTC]

Yeah! good point! i know, he really did awful things but he is still a human with deep emotions. I think he is interesting cuz his vision of the reality isnΒ΄t just "iΒ΄m a hero, iΒ΄ll save people", no, he knows that sometimes you need do bad things for make good. I think that heΒ΄s more an anti-hero...and of course..he is nuts XD

But Ozy's plan was even too far for him, and Eddie was supposed to be the worst one, such conflicting character concepts, I love it so

lol I'm glad they got him (his name escapes) to play him cuz I can't think of many actors who will not only play a dork, but put on 40 pounds AND take their clothes off on camera with said extra weight on. That takes balls :-P

Indeed! I keep trying to tell myself "wait to buy it, wait to buy it, WAIT TO BUY IT", cause I know as soon as I do, they're gonna come out with an even COOLER edition in another 2 weeks they did that to me with Boondock Saints!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KrisSmithDW In reply to Tempest-Lavalle [2009-06-11 04:27:14 +0000 UTC]

lol well at least for this first release they aren't doing that, the regular AND director's cut are coming out on the same day, so none of that double dipping crap. If there's a SUPER DUPER cut, it wont be for a LONG time.

I haven't seen any special feature stuff for Boondock Saints, I just have like a barebones DVD of it. And I've also seen "Overnight" xDDD

Tempest-Lavalle In reply to KrisSmithDW [2009-06-11 08:22:05 +0000 UTC]

Overnight? Why do I know that name? I have the barebones DVD too, got it for my birthday after I first fell in love with it (STILL my favorite movie to this day X3) I'm so excited for the DVD XD there's so many movies and DVDs I still need to get and see (I haven't even seen the new Star Trek movie!!)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KrisSmithDW In reply to Tempest-Lavalle [2009-06-11 11:49:28 +0000 UTC]

lol Overnight was the documentary that was made of the making of Boondock Saints. That basically showed how the director of Boondock burned every bridge and destroyed his career by the end of it all. It wasn't intentional. The guys who were hired to film his "rise" got screwed by the end that they kept the footage to at least salvage the documentary to make their money back, and the footage was well, damning xDD

I'm still behind on movies m'self. Just got to see The Hangover yesterday though, friggin' AWESOME. xD
