TRANSFORMERS: IGNITION - Optimus Prime (Robot Mode)Turnaround of the design of Optimus Prime's robot mode. I figured everyone would like a better look at him since you only get to see his back view in the teaser poster.
You'll notice that the arm blades he has in the poster are collapsed and folded up into his arms to be a bit more compact. The arm design was inspired by the TF:Classics toy of Optimus from a few years back (2006 maybe?)
He does have a rifle, but I haven't finished designing it yet.
His faceplate does NOT retract. I have nothing against Primes having retractable faceplates (and after the "Let's find out" moment near the end of Dark of the Moon, it's TOTALLY awesome) but I'm going for a bit of a nostaliga bent with this Prime, so his stays on. He does have a face/mouth behind it, but it's kinda like a Judge Dredd thing where it never comes off and you never see his face.
Well, "technically" you dont. You do get to see Ultra Magnus' face and he IS Optimus' twin...

Ah, so you believe that Magnus and OP are twins too. 
Don't know why the comics keep switching up all that mumbo jumbo with Magnus and Prime being related/not related... but meh.
It's nice to see people jump on that when they can. 
Also, wicked design! Love the idea of the retractable swords in those apertures. XD

I thought it was a great idea from the Dreamwave days, and since in this series he is just an Optimus recolour and doesn't wear any armour (wink wink) it made sense to go with this angle again, especially since Dreamwave went belly up before they could explore it more and I'd really like to

Haha heck yeah. Yeah, poor guys had a really awesome storyvline and some interesting ideas that could have become something truly amazing. I'm glad you are going along a similar route Dreamwave took. I look forward to your comic
