~WARNING~If you do not like/agree with taxidermy, I suggest you look away now. Rude and unnecessary comments will be hidden or marked as spam. Just as you have a right to look at it, you also have a right to NOT look at it. That's what the x or back button is for. There is no blood, nudity, or sexual themes in this, therefore I wont mark it as mature. Also a little fun fact for the fur haters: Hunters and trappers contribute around 14 billion dollars every year to wildlife conservation. They contribute more money to preserving animals than PETA.

All of these pelts are from friends/family members, natural/accidental deaths, population culling, and pelts no one else wanted or were selling due to not having room for them anymore, etc. The african civet is from . I really can't thank her enough <3 I also have a ton of vintage fox and mink stoles stored away in a box in the attic. I need to get those out lol

*Update*
Pelts obtained (or waiting on) after this pic was taken:
- Dark Cross fox, almost a silver, but has dark orange tinting around the neck regions, has white toes on a couple feet (full pelt)
- Wild caught Silver fox (long legs but no feet..currently looking for correct feet for it to make it into a full)
- 2 ringtails/cacomistle (both full pelts, one currently being tanned)
- 2 Egyptian desert foxes/fennec foxes (no feet)
- Abert Squirrel/Tassle eared squirrel (Now mounted))
- SunGlow fox, nice bold markings (no legs/feet or bottom jaw)
- Snowshoe Hare (full pelt, currently being tanned)
- Sugar Glider (full pelt, currently being skinned and tanned)
- White marked Cross fox (full pelt)
- Marble Cross fox (full pelt)
- Amber fox?? (full pelt) (it's a very light lavender color, so I'm not quite sure if it's a variation of amber fox or not)
- SunGlow Fox (full pelt)
- Pearl Platinum fox from EmosLoveWeed (full pelt)

I don't think genet pelts are illegal, they aren't an endangered species last I checked lol I'm sure you could get a dead specimen from a zoo. I'd personally rather have a live one than a pelt XD I think they're illegal as pets in a lot of states though.

Emo, just so you know I joined just to tell you this. what you do is wrong. Oh, go on, sure, IGNORE THIS. MARK IT AS SPAM. it just shows me what kind of person you are, so please take it to heart. yes, you deny it, but it is WRONG. killing for PELTS! PEH!! imagine that: being sent into that endless swirling void that is death for your PELT. you say "Just look away!!!" HMPH! i can't just look away from something morally wrong. really. you say it is CULLING. that is rediculous at best. they NEED...NO...CULLING!!! humans do but i'm certainly not going to kill any!! and WHAT did foxes ever do to YOU? kill you? skin you? I think not! you say they were not skinned alive. SO!?!?!? is you were shot, or gassed, or whatever horrible thing they do to those wonderful animals and THEN skin you, would that make it all right? I respect your opinion and I'm not about to change it. For the record, I did not kill any of these animals myself, nor did I hire someone to do it for me. These were previously owned by family and people I don't know. I personally see nothing wrong with preserving nature. I respect animals in both life AND death and I wish others would respect that in return for my respect..sadly it seems our world isn't civilized enough for that.
Also, the only place I know that skins animals alive is China. I believe that's illegal here in the US and I'd never buy from a source that practices such massacre.
I understand your rage, as I used to be like you a long long time ago, so don't say "You don't understand..". I would much rather see these animals alive, but there's nothing I can do about it, and I'd much rather preserve their remains than have them made into ridiculous coats.

The emo was accident sorry. i know you did not kill them yourself or hire someone, but by buying the body you sopport them in doing so. So I don't exactly see it as respect, and i do belive that turning them into a coat is better, given that they actlly are useful. Not at ALL that I like fur coats. How exactly is this PRESERVING nature?

I find turning them into coats for fashion to be disgraceful to the animal. If it was needed to survive, like in Alaska, or for some kind of spiritual thing, then I'd be fine with it. Who says these pelts aren't going to be used? I plan to mount some of my pelts, as well as educating people about the animals with a hands-on way, rather than seeing them from a distance in the wild or a zoo.
I'm preserving them by not letting them rot away in the ground to be forgotten forever, or be chopped up into pieces for fashion. I prefer my pelts to be whole, retaining as much of the animal as possible. All of my pelts were skinned and tanned prior to me ever touching them, so I had no part in the killing of these and do not know when these animals were taken. They could have gone through 4 or 5 owners for all I know.

I do frequently take them down and brush them to keep them looking nice, but yes, I do sometimes have to resist the urge to pet them all day lol Not everyday you get to touch an animal that's on a different continent lol

And it's funny, I came across that completed eBay auction for the jackal just earlier today! I'm happy to see it again and know that it ended up in a great home.

I think it is great that someones are taking care of the remains of dead animals, I think to many people that dosn't likes it are just wrongly informed.

those furs are really lovely, the pearl fox especially.
ahh, I feel so controversial xD on one side im totally against fur and all that jazz, but Im also not against it as far as roadkill and humanely putting the animal to sleep. Im really into steampunk and I went to the anime expo this year and found a steampunk booth that was selling fox tails and I actually bought one. but my friend and I were there for like... 20 mins or so asking him questions about them. He said that they were humanly put to sleep and where he got them from uses every part of the fox, meat, bones, fur, etc... Im not against that kind of stuff, but when its from those ones that do terrible stuff to the foxes to kill them and whatnot, Im totally against it. In this case though, as far as the comments above are... Im on your side. I've stopped to get things from roadkill before anyways. Its just sad to let it rot there on the road, getting hit over and over again. :/ its sickening. there was an owl on the road once, and I only didn't get it because it was in a pretty dangerous spot x_x sadly the owl was on the road that led to my school so I saw it everyday. anyways, Im rambleing and holy cake my comment is wayyyy to long, sorry xD but anyways, these furs are beautiful :]

Thanks :3 I pretty much have the same views as you. I try to avoid getting pelts and whatnot from inhumane sources, I'm against the harvesting of fur just to make fur coats and ridiculous fashion. The pelts and taxidermy mounts I get I try to make certain that the animal was either from a natural or accidental death, the animal was humanely euthanized, or all parts of the animals were used.
Also it'd be really interesting to see some steampunk taxidermy xD I'd totally go for some of that! *is a steampunk enthusiast herself ;D*
