Do you feel you have to press very hard with your tombow eraser to get the highlights or can you use it very loosely like a pencil?

No, but it depends, I only get good usage, after applying 3-4 layers of graphite, else, I have to pushy to hard, and the result doesn't look good.

Yeah I see will try that myself I was just wondering in your tutorials you mention you use a circular way of creating tones could you explain that you create actual dots to create the texture of the skin? I'm finding this a bit difficult getting skin texture when the photograph doesn't really tell you much details about the skin any tips on this?

I use small circles, layer over layer, to create skin. I also use dots for shadows, and more smaller details.
