Description
I had some trouble with this one.Sometimes when I include reflections, they come out crisp and clear, other times they are all pixelated and look crappy.
This is one of the times they look crappy.
Can anyone who has a better understanding of how these things work, please clue me in to what I am doing wrong?
I am sure there is a setting that i am using incorrectly, but am unaware of which one.
I am sure there is probably a tutorial that will help, and i will be looking into it.
In the mean time, any suggestions and pro tips would be greatly appreciated.
I am becoming increasingly dissatisfied with my efforts as a result of this issue.
I apologize for turning out inferior product, and will do my best to remedy the situation.
Thank you for your patience.
Here are the parameters, dissapointing though they may be.

Cool design, no question. And I like the reflections. Sorry, I can't really help you. There are so many things that have influence to reflections like how many light-sources and how they are configured, whats your ambient shadow like, are there hard-shadows and from how many lightsources. Only some points. You have to study to understand all of this and how they affect the result. Don't worry, be cool! I love this result...

Looks good to me! Maybe when dealing with rounded edges and square edges it will reflect jagged and on the larger surfaces be more noticeable? I don't do much reflective work so my guess is just a guess.Β Β

perhaps that is part of it.
thanks for the advice.

Maybe it's because of the 1:2 dithering? Ambient value 2 (Lighting) is also a lot.
Try this:
Ambient Shadows: DEAO, check "no dithering" and check "first random step". If the ambient shadow is too strong, try MaxL values < 1 (0.3 or 0.6 for instance). Or try SSAO15, SSAO24, SSAO24r. If holes are too dark check "treshold to 0". I think for IFS often DEAO with first random step, unchecked dithering, is the best ambient occlussion.
Lighting: Ambient, use value 1.0.
Calculation: check "First step random"

thank you so much for the advice.
i will try these settings and see what happens.
I need to be more patient, and thourough in learning what all the features of this program do.

Well, forgive me but I don't see any imperfection in the reflections here, but my eyes, well..... Β Β Β
There are tutorials here on DA, but I found this one by Sabine very well done and understandable; it has been very useful to me as a starting point.
The other advice I can give to you (as a beginner) is...try various settings, as the values that are good on an image, not always are good for another. I know it's a bit frustrating but that's it. Hope to be of some help! Β Β Β

thank you for the confidence boost.
i tend to be hard on myself, if the results do not live up to the expectations that ive placed for myself.
