1] Weedeel plunge their heads and necks into the sand below the waves. Their rough neck sections keep them from slipping out while they poke their heads out. They do this both to hide from predators in the guise of seaweed and to hunt for prey.
2] Schools of weedeel swim together to maximize their chances of survival. When spooked, they all dart into the sand and look like a thick patch of seaweed. They prefer sandy sea beds that get lots of sunlight to maximize photosynthesis.

1] Floray has strong rhyzoid spines on their necks to allow them to anchor into seabeds in strong currents. They hid in wait among seaweed for prey, exploding out of the sand when they sense a presence.
2] Floray have very strong jaws with which the bore holes into sediment and stone as well as crush prey. Their seaweed like bodies absorb sunlight even in cold waters and strong currents.
