Wow! I never expected for any of my work to get featured!
I would like to think for the feature on [link]
and also for the feature on [link]
And of course, thank you to everyone who has viewed, commented, and favorited my tutorial
----------

I made this tutorial for ~lily-snape
It shows how to make a weave style pop can tab bracelet. If theres enough demand I'll put up tutorials on how to make the chains and such as well.
Thanks for looking
This tutorial is copyright ~KrootonzNCheeze

Wow, I never thought that this would be so popular I'd love to see pictures of everyones bracelets/belts/chokers/whatever they used it for
I forgot to add how many tabs you will need (estimated)
Choker - About 60 or so
Bracelet - About 25-30 or so
Belt - Depends on your size, but you will need a lot O.o (also give yourself PLENTY of extra string
Thank you to everyone who has commented and favorited

Sweet! I'll have to take a look The tabs will be a bit scratchy depending on how thick of rope/twine/hemp/yarn/whatever you use. the thicker it is, the further you are from the tabs. Eventually it will stop being scrathy.
And, of course, you can always sew fabric to the back. That actually may look really cool Let me know if you do, I'd be curious to see what it looks like.

yush! I spent the morning collecting pop tabs and crushing cans (might as well do both xD)
and I finished a bracelet with the supplies I had!

I was simple to remember the pattern once I got going. The pictures in the tutorial were very helpful ^^

I'll post a picture when I find the camera

Haha well crushing cans and stuff can be fun Especially if you get some money for it mmhmm
Yeah, the pattern isn't too hard really, and theres a few different variations you can do with it Also thank you very much Glad I could help

yeah crushing cans can be a mini workout too xD all that bending to set up the can and standing up to stomp reminds me of squats

it's kinda loud though...the neighbor shouted something to me xD but they were just joking thank goodness

I'll try out a variation when I have more tabs, patterned fabric, and cord ^^

hey, what kind of cans did you get the coloured tabs from?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KrootonzNCheeze In reply to subduedleviathan [2009-02-23 17:09:45 +0000 UTC]

What colors do you need?
Usually energy drinks have colored tabs. I usually use monster and amp.

DarkHunterKuro [2009-01-07 01:35:26 +0000 UTC]

I made one. It looked very nice.... but I used red lanyard and pop tabs. The knots didn't turn out so well, as lanyard doesn't exactly like to stay tied..... so I tried melting the plastic together to strengthen the knot. (if you do this hold the lanyard a few inches above a flame... it will BURN)
and. I think I should have done it with string or a ribbon instead- but the tutorial was very helpful, so thank you.

P.s: I'm giving the one I made to my boyfriend, I'll tell you what the feedback is. XD

KrootonzNCheeze In reply to DarkHunterKuro [2009-01-07 05:07:27 +0000 UTC]

No problem Please let me know how he likes it
Yeah, lanyard can be kinda tricky. If its a plastic (polyester or something) string or ribbon than you can fuse it together by holding it over the flame until both sides melt, and then pressing them together (be careful not to burn yourself) If its cotton than you can't.
Thanks for the comment

Very nice and helpful! I'm so going to make some now! ^_^

Question though, how do you get the part with the connector so clean? Or do you just fold it down? If you cut it off, what are you cutting it with?

Thanks for any help! Man I need to drink more soda... I just know I'm going to get addicted to this.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KrootonzNCheeze In reply to Uirusu [2008-10-09 21:14:47 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the comment, and the Interest. It certainly gets very addiction. I would suggest asking your friends to save their tabs for you. Seemed to work for me.
As for the connector, Which side are you talking about? The side with the D Ring or the Side which will have Lobster Clasp?
Thanks again~

Uirusu In reply to KrootonzNCheeze [2008-10-09 22:49:42 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah. I actually stopped a lady outside Walmart the other day and asked if I could take the tab before she threw her can her away... She must have thought I was crazy.

The connector I was talking about is the little round thing in the middle of the tab that connects it to the can.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KrootonzNCheeze In reply to Uirusu [2008-10-12 20:07:53 +0000 UTC]

Haha I do that all the time, especially if they have colored tabs (jackpot).
Oh ok I see what you mean. If it didnt break off when you pulled it off the can then just bend it back and forth a few times until it comes off.
When taking tabs off of cans don't pull until it breaks (you'll bend or break the tab), instead bend it in and out of the can a few times until it pops off, this will leave the connector on the can. I hope that makes sense

Uirusu In reply to KrootonzNCheeze [2008-10-12 21:56:57 +0000 UTC]

I almost got a nice green one, but they messed it up while opening the can.

Ah, thank you so much! I've been cheating and using tin shears to clip them off in the mean time, but your way is MUCH better.

At least the ones I have will be fine, since I can still bend them off like that. Again, thank you so much~

Yup, I'm always surprised how many people collect them. I guess some people sell them though, so that makes sense.

Working on one now. ^^ I have a colored tab for the middle and the rest are gonna be silver.

this is a really cool and unique idea! ^-^ i think i will give it a try!

i have a question though.. how come you mentioned in the tutorial not to colour the tabs ourselves?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KrootonzNCheeze In reply to xian-atedstuff [2008-07-11 19:13:48 +0000 UTC]

Thankies
From my experience, if you try to color the tabs yourself they usually just rub off, and either look bad or get all over your neck/clothes/wrist/etc.
