Oh yes, I'd felt it'd be a sin to not have Ekimu actually wearing his Mask of Creation and then photographing it for you all to see. lol

Although, why the green eyes, I wonder, as apposed to the blue eyes he has in the cartoon?

Yeah, that's true... Still, though, I wouldn't name my future baby daughter Korgot! XD

lol I wouldn't either.

I also heard a hilarious joke in the videos that old Bionicle fans will get. The toa are trapped underground and Lewa says, "Wait, I feel a breeze. There must be a tunnel behind these rocks." Kopaka then replies, "Breeze? What are you, the Master of Air?"

Aw, nice! At-least they've made a nod to the old Lewa.

Yeah, that episode was an interesting one to watch. Many of Kopaka's lines in these videos are funny. There's "I didn't slip," "I hate Fire," "Breeze? What are you, the Master of Air?" among others. He's a bit of a party pooper at times in the episodes, but he's still entertaining.

Yeah, a bit like the classic Kopaka, in a way. Always such a downer. ^^

If they go the route of the old gen with Kopaka, he may just end up as the lieutenant again. But I still see it being a while before that happening.

Yeah, it's a big IF. Another big IF is whether or not the toa have their memories return. I know they got their memories back during the first gen, but if they do so here we will be able to understand the context of the story better, and whether or not it connects to the old gen (another big IF). Either way, I'm curious to see how this gen will continue. Lego could still decide to extend the story like they did with the old gen. I heard this new gen had a 3 year story plan, but that plan can still change depending on the reception of this new gen.

I've seen in the store, but I didn't buy any of them. I can see what Lego means when they said the CCBS system will be more universal (like your average lego brick). I don't know if they will have a special function (like the gear system), but they look interesting.

Indeed.

I just saw episode 16 of the new Bionicle videos, and its name references the old gen. The episode is called, "Unity Duty Destiny" and all three virtues were mentioned at least once in the episode alone. Ekimu himself says that Makuta is the one controlling Skull Grinder, and that Skull Grinder is trying to destroy the Mask of Creation. Which is interesting because Pohatu earlier said that Makuta was controlling the Skull Spiders. I thought that Makuta was placed into a coma with Ekimu once the Mask of Ultimate Power was knocked off of him. Could it be that Makuta is somehow controlling all the 2015 baddies through something like telepathy? Ekimu was able to speak to the Toa through their golden masks, so maybe Makuta could do the same through the Skull Villain masks and the Golden Mask of the Skull Spiders. It's also interesting to note that Skull Grinder is trying to destroy the Mask of Creation, not steal it...

Such as the fact that Makuta IS behind all this.

Taqresu650 In reply to KrytenMarkGen-0 [2015-09-21 13:33:11 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, but I still don't know how or why he is. Pohatu is the one who said the Skull Spiders were, "under evil Makuta's control," but he didn't say that until after they defeated the Lord of the Skull Spiders, Skull Slicer, and an ambush of Skull Warriors. Then it was Ekimu himself who told the Toa that Skull Grinder was under Makuta's control and was trying to destroy the Mask of Creation, not steal it. I'm curious to see what's going on here. It was first implied that LotSS and Skull Grinder were the evil master minds behind the current evil on Okoto, but I'm starting to think it's a bit more like the old gen. where Makuta is the puppet master in the shadows. I wonder if Makuta still has a remnant of the evil influence he got from the Mask of Ultimate Power.

Right, yes, of course... Buuuutt at-least he IS the main villain, in a way. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Taqresu650 In reply to KrytenMarkGen-0 [2015-09-25 15:21:47 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I'm actually glad that he is. It's a nod to the old Makuta. When the video mentions Makuta as the one controlling Skull Grinder it shows a constellation-type of look to his mask (his Mask of Control) in the sky among the stars (also in front of what looks like a dark cloud). The way it showed his mask looked almost exactly like the way he revealed his control over the Mata Nui robot. Not to mention that the three virtues were "bestowed to the Matoran by the Great Spirit, Mata Nui." Yet Okoto doesn't appear to be within the Mata Nui Robot itself. You can clearly see planets and moons in the night sky of Okoto, and the Toa arrived from them.
I keep wondering if this universe is somehow connected to the old. There are so many nods and hints to the old gen. I know it's likely that this is a completely different story, but there are just so many references. There are the 7 names from the old gen, there are the Mask of Time appearances in the first 9 story videos (and Tahu's promotional video), there are the toa themselves (who are very similar to their gen 1 versions), Then Makuta, and his current assumption for evil purposes, then a joke about Lewa not being a "Master of Air," the three virtues mentioned, and more.
I could be completely wrong, but with each new reference I keep thinking "what if?" But if this gen is somehow connected to the old, how would it be connected? It's easy to say alternate universe (Takanuva's journey makes it clear that there are some). But even then, where would Okoto be in the overall Bionicle Universe?

Yeah. Last night I found this TTV interview with the screenwriter for the webisodes on youtube. There were some interesting things in that interview. Evidently, the screen writer wrote the line, "I can feel the power!" but he wasn't the one who chose to extend the word "power" lol

Taqresu650 In reply to KrytenMarkGen-0 [2015-09-28 04:11:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but it's became a some-what popular line. lol It also appears that the ones who work on the webisodes have both a tight budget and a tight schedule. They are also usually limited to 90 seconds. Many of the episodes in the beginning were supposed to "test the water." Having all that and the audience in mind, I can see why the episodes are the way they are. Some of the TTV guys said the episodes reminded them of Bionicle's original web game.

I don't exactly remember, but I think the screenwriter would have wanted more of LoSS, but all he does is the screenwriting, he doesn't plan all the episodes.

Also the last episode for the 2015 Summer Wave was just released. Only the credits made it a longer than normal episode. It was a final battle between the Toa and Ekimu against Kulta, where Kulta dons the Mask of Creation.
