I love this shot! The clarity would be great if this was on a tripod, impossible by hand! Especially if you just had to clap to get them to move! Congrats on a perfect shot!!

Thank you! There was also another photographer out there who kept on getting really close to them, and I was just thinking "you can get close up of geese anywhere, but where are you going to find a huge ass flock of them?!"

No doubt, I've never seen that many in one place myself! The closest I came was scuba diving off Japan when a GIANT school of barracuda swam right over me, it was a fantastic sight!! I Wished I had had an underwater cam that day!!

They start off pretty cheap, glorified plastic bags. Can't go more than 30 feet, but its a good start.

you know i think people are underestimating what you had to do to get this shot. Im guessing you had to quickly snap the shot before they all disappeared, or you creeped up to them (which is impossible), and then had to do something to scare them, all the while concentrating on the camera.
i was in a similar situation, because im stuck with a crappy digi camera, i had to autofocus before they saw me, then creep up, jump n shout to scare them, then snap it LOL, the picture is in my gallery.
