Chapter 2.5
     He couldn’t believe what she had just done. How could she have done that? No heart that was no excuse. He failed to have such a commodity himself, but even he knew the difference between right and wrong. But did he really? He had watched the entire scene play out, but still he did nothing. An innocent had just been killed because of his incompetence.
     True, many before had died, but all had fought for their survival. This, this cat, only wished to warn her friends, to care for people. More than she even. Why did she deserve to die? What possible reason could Larxene see for killing her? He could see none. He could only see Heartless swarm the impact sight of where she had been sentenced to death.
     He turned now back to Larxene, back to the woman he both hated and loved. The one person that had truly stolen his heart, and was slowly crushing it underneath her cold uncaring hands. Like now.
     She was laughing manically as the Heartless continued to swarm over the poor cat. But even with all her sadistic laughter, with all of her horrible habits, with all of her very being, he still could not remove the thought of his love of her from his mind. It seemed impossible to him that he had fallen for her. What would cause it? She was beautiful, no doubt, but he never cared for that before, why would now be different? It had to be more, what more he could not tell.
     But his answer came sooner than he expected.
     Much sooner.
     “Come back Pretty Kitty!” She yelled suddenly. It made him physically jump, red spikes swaying with the force. But if her sudden outburst wasn’t enough, the effect of her words certainly was.
      The Heartless moved, moved away from where the cat was. It was a miracle. She was alive! She was standing! He couldn’t feel the happiness in him, but he knew that a normal being would be happy. So he acted as such. Thrusting his fist into the air. Doing a silent cheer as to not attract attention. The usual. But he stopped just as fast as he began, when the blonde vixen uttered the next words.
     “So how does it feel pretty kitty?” How does what feel? Being thrown by one of the biggest bitches throughout all of time and space into a million Heartless and just surviving? Or the gut feeling he knew the cat was feeling towards the woman?  He had a good guess at how those felt. But like before, he could never truly know.
     “How does it feel to be my new pet?” New pet? What was Larxene talking about now? How would that cat ever…
     “Larxene… you didn’t…” He muttered in pure shock of what she was insinuating. Had she really done it? Had she just done what had become of them? Had she made a new Heartless?
     “I…” The cat was speaking, but oh so softly it was barely above a whisper. The red head strained his ears to hear the cat, wishing what he thought not to be true.
     “I feel… so powerful! So much stronger!” That was it, it definitely wasn’t the same cat as before. Not the same Camillia that had so boldly tried to help her friends. She would never cry for power like now. It was now a shell of her former self.
     Camillia the cat, had become a Heartless for the Organization.
     Axel only wished, prayed, hoped, and cried that he would be the last.
     But as it had been before, before with him and his 12 friends, she wouldn’t be.
     More would come. And more would fall.
     The Darkfalling had begun.
     What more could he do?
     He could help. He could fight. He could find that blue Sonic so many had talked of, but few had seen.
     He could help these animals.
     And so he would.
     As fire erupted around him, he felt something that he thought he needed a heart to feel.
     Dedication… and… Purpose.
