Ah yes, the time has come, no introduction needed, let's just get this done with.

Today I bring you all a redesign of Ben's most controversial dna sample, his Segmentosapien form:

As per usual I'm splitting this up on 3 main parts with 1st being the BIOLOGY:

Segmentosapiens are large quadruped primate resembling creatures from planet Ogelonayam. Although they lack skin and inner bones, they've got a tough armored exoskeleton plating in their outside that is as hard as an average Earth's rock. But these exoskeletons serves as more then just protection. Along with their complex web like muscle structure they serve as their most known ability: Shape-shifting

Their exoskeleton shell is not as it seems. Although it might feel like a big piece of organically produced silicone, these "plates" are actually made out of countless amount of small scale like pieces. Each and every scale/tile is attached to and held together by Segmentosapien's muscles. As mentioned before, Segmentosapiens don't have any inner skeleton. Instead they have powerful muscles that stretch throughout their whole bodies and hold together each scale together in a complex web of muscle structure.

But with each muscle having it's own scale piece attached to it, these creatures learned to disassemble and reconstruct their bodies to fit various tasks (for example fitting in small spaces, creating weapons/armor, faster or more agile movement, etc). Their elastic muscle fibers also give them a chance to extend their muscles up to 7 times their original size, giving them abilities like limb stretching and even wider range of shape shifting.

But although both their armor and muscles are really strong and hard to penetrate, their biggest weaknesses are their exposes brains at the top of their snouts. In fact ALL of their "head" is crucial, since all the organs are located there. Studies have shown that Segmentosapien anatomy has a "skull" where the organs are at, from which a web of veins and muscles stretches all the way down to where the scales are (at the tip of a muscle). They then rearrange their positions and their plating to form their so called "BASE FORM".

2nd part: The SOCIETY:

Ogelonayam is a beautiful planet covered in jungles, moutains rivers and other tropical landscape, all in a beautiful coloration of reds, purples, blues and pinks. That is why the Segmentosapien have mostly red colored scales, so that they can fit better into their own environment.

Segmentosapiens are very social creatures that strongly believe in unity and family. No matter if biological, social or even otherworldly, everyone's welcomed to them. But unfortunately due to some spoilers to the show, we can't reveal much more about their society.

And lastly, the ACTUAL REDESIGN:

I think it's quite clear why I went into a heavier redesign with this one. Don't get me wrong I ADORE legos, but that doesn't change my thoughts on this guy's original design.

As per usual, I leaned into making his design more organic and alien. So the muscle stretching was a day one idea. Also I wanted to really lean into his original gorilla design and pay respect to that more, but while drawing and doing sketches for this guy, I threw in some Mandrill features in there too, just so the design is more colorful and unique (amd cuz Mandrill is my favorite primate).

Also I really got inspired by Mayan and old Asian architectures, since they all have those beautiful shapes that I thought would fit this guy so well. And in terms of scales, I just think them being made of these things that they can also use as weapons due to their shape is more logical then just lego bricks.

That should be it for this one, hope u like him cuz he was a pain to design. I'm just gonna end it on this note: "cuz of this guy I unlocked the global secret of architecture".
