Description
Finished the remake of my D&D character, Drenneth. Original, from 2007, is here: [link]This took a LOT of work, and I learned a lot of techniques that will help my artwork continue to grow. I look forward to remaking this in 2009 once I've grown past where I am now.
Drenneth is haunted by the loss of a loved one long ago; I tried to capture a bit of a sad look in his eyes.
Please full view for detail!
EDIT: tweaked some of the proportions a bit, but I'm going to leave it here now.
I give ~elves permission to upload this image to their gallery.

I really like this pic. It's good, but something just doesn't seem right with his right shoulder.

In my opinion, it's really well done!
Beautiful, detailed, and very realistic. In my opinion, his eyes have that spark of sadness you tried to capture.

...Sweet Christmas. I was floored by the in-progress from your LJ, but I'm still quite floored by the finished version. The skin and hair textures are what really impress me the most--in fact, the attention to details in this are really impressive. Even the scar is coloured in such a way that it looks like a scar! ...okay; I'm geeking out, but I'm really proud for you on how this turned out. I can't wait to see what 2009 holds for you!

The original was impressive itself but this just blows it out of the water! The skin has amazing texture and his eyes are so lifelike. I'm drawn to the expression in them.

wow, when u said u knew yr proportions were off i was expecting alot worse- really the only thing i can tell you is his ear needs to be just a smigin higher- but other than that hes just fine proportion-wise. I really like him- charictor work is exceptionally hard (just look at the multitude of failures in my gallery) but he comes across very nicely. My only advice would be to tweek the nose slightly- the bridge is a little bit 'too perfict' and is not in keeping with the rest of him. i also am not sure whats up with the light 'lumpyness' of his right shoulder (HIS right) it may also need to be a tad wider- but find yrself a ref for that angle to be sure. Otherwise i love him, the scarwork is great and his eyes are beautiful. good job.

First of all this is a wonderful remake and very apparent.
Second, He is cute
Third, Most important in a image is to make it interesting and a good composition does that.
A good composition tells a story, by taking the viewer around the image from the main focal point and back again, this one does that very well.
Main focal point is the eyes; next the brow to the scar to the mouth to the nose and back to the eyes; next the hair frames the face to the ear to the earrings to the scar to the eyes; the shoulders to the swoop up the neck to the eyes.

I agree with Ponte that his eyes have alot more emotion to them than the previous version... Very well done! I love the textures on the skin and hair, what a huge difference they make for realism. I especially love the earrings for some reason, lol.
Gorgeous as per usual with your work. <3
