WTF categories?sorry for the size
I didn't want to shrink too much it after I drew that virus pic.Yae I diddit *facedesk*
finally a really le crappe ref for Virus.
I was going to make this really long but considering he's quite a mysterious fellow who doesn't show much emotion, is mute and can't remember his past.... it kinda rules out a lot :{
plus I don't really have time to do all that and knowing me it would end up lost somewhere, covered in dust and rotting in my folders coz I lost interest in it.
(this is the 5th ref I've attempted for the poor fellow) D:
I'm prone to change some things, I already have as you can see here.
like his markings. all of that was made up on tha spot
but I did want some sort of unusual blue marks on him somewhere...
and I'm definitely getting rid of those cogs thar DX they're hideous. I think I'll change them back to shiny orbs.

Tried making this look like some sort of report but... as you can see I got bored with that
and don't be too picky about his markings XD they're only a rough guide (tan feet ftw)

I love virus! But now that you've made a ref i've had so much trouble trying to adapt it to a humanoid.

His markings are amazing! I love a great deal of mixed and complicated markings, they're a lot of fun to draw. >3

I gave up trying to put some more info on this after staring at it for too long, trying to figure out what else to put there. So I just doodled instead XD
I was playing with the saturation and when I turned it up he was very colourful, jess XD
I wanted to keep his markings semi-realistic but still interesting and unique :3

^^ it's just, the cogs don't go with him. they're just sitting there, also, the rest of him looks more futuristic whereas the cogs are a more older thing ^~^;

It's pretty much become a part of my art style. He was going to be flat colour but... he looked too flat XD.
I draw each and every hair in using my graphics tablet, I get a relaxed, stroking motion with my hand so the fur doesn't look so stiff and I try to keep in mind the fur direction too.
I also use photoshop, I don't know if that helps?

i had a similar effect going with just a airbrush with a fadeout value of 75-150 pixels, but i cant beat a tablet.
which means it's all in the wrist xD
and I gotta get me one of those tablets!
