Description After Kagero's forces started charging towards Jamergur's badly defended home territories, their army in the north made a desperate, long retreat back south. With these forces retreating Kagero's vassal, Yuma Doji, recaptures its lost land from Jamergur and helps Xana regain its own territories.

Jamergur switches from trying to 'blitzkrieg' Xana and Yuma Doji to a more defensive stance. Their capital city, Gero Aper Jo is barricaded using poorly paid serf labour, and several thousand men and women were conscripted into the army in order to bolster their forces. When Kagero comes for the capital, they'll be ready.

Kagero is usually consistent in the tactics it uses and, generally, when trying to capture an enemy capital or large city they would use siege weapons to create several breaches and then use feint attacks to wear down and draw out the enemy's garrison before storming the city.

However, it just so happens that the army officer responsible for taking Gero Aper Jo, Honourable Chief-General Raiga Mosur Kana, has been taking advice recently, from a Najata mercenary captain, no less. This Najata, whose full name is Barrack Kerren O'Manser O'Kans Ij, suggests a different tactic, colloquially named 'Huga Kokata Nai' tactics [literally 'War without battles', it is later shorted to 'Hu Ko Nai', and finally just 'Hu'] the idea is, basically, siege tactics.

Whilst blockading a city instead of assaulting it was hardly a new idea, it had been some time since Kagero's armies had used such a tactic, and they certainly believed right now that such a tactic would work.

However, General Kana comes round to Barrack's way of thinking, and decides to employ these tactics. The Kagero army quickly sweeps away any sort of enemy presence around the city, and then settles in to besiege it. The Generals in command of Gero Aper Jo's garrison watch as Kagero's forces begin pounding the walls with catapults and onagers. Believing Kagero will use their normal tactics, they wait, their armies waiting for the assault.

A breach appears in the walls. Then another, and another. The Generals of Jamergur begin to realise that Kagero isn't using its usual tactics. Troop dissent begins to become a real problem as Jamergur's massive army realise there's not enough room in Gero Aper Jo for them to live, and not enough food to sustain them beyond six months.

When Military Command find out about what General Kana's doing, he is reprimanded for using unconventional tactics. Scouts report civil unrest and possible revolts in Gero Aper Jo, because of this proof of success, several Najata mercenary captains appeal against the reprimand on Kana's behalf. As Najata are highly respected, and are well-known to be some of the best tacticians in the world, the reprimand is overturned.

Jamergur's armies and populace descend into anarchy as they refuse to obey the orders of their Rei [Rei would literally translate as 'Democrat' or 'Elected Person', essentially the President] and the army Generals. Scouts report this back to General Kana, who orders a final assault on Gero Aper Jo.

The populace of Gero Aper Jo cheer Kagero's warriors as they march through the city, even Jamergur's former army are happy to see them. The troops burn the city's flag and replace it with a new one. Gero Aper Jo is even renamed, by order of the Rei of Kagero, "Yurnai" [which means 'Without a wall', referencing the fact that Gero Aper Jo's walls had been almost completely flattened by Kagero's siege weapons].

Jamergur's Rei is captured as are the army Generals, they are placed on trial and are found guilty of dissent against Kagero and war crimes against their own populace. They are all executed, though not publicly.

With all of Jamergur under the control of Kagero and its allies, they set about dividing up the spoils. Sogero Kar takes the important rice and wheat growing regions in the west and beings infrastructure and education programs to maximise the area's agricultural output. Xana is given some of Jamergur's northern coastline.

Kagero itself decides not to annex the remaining area, as it is too far away to integrate into the nation. Instead the area is turned into the Yurnai Special Territory, it is ruled directly by Kagero's Rei, with a Rei War ["Little Rei"] appointed to carry out the Rei's orders in the territory.

Kagero decides to make sure that no threat like Jamergur will ever arise again, and so begins annexing areas of its eastern vassals, including all of Yuma Doji, giving it far better control over the seas.

Kagero has asserted its dominance, gained an ally in Xana and a new idea of how to wage war. With any form of resistance or defiance in the area looking less and less likely, Kagero must find other lands to expand its influence.
