Vampiric Restoration mage who acts as Lord Harkon's Court Mage in the first middle of the Third Era.

Emotionless and remorseless, Althene is what stereotypical views paint the members of House Telvanni as: a mage for whom others' lives amount to nothing and has eyes only for her arcane research and personal fullfillment, no matter what they might entail.

She is a one of the few known practictioners of Flesh Magic and Flesh Sculpting.

As a mer born and raised in Tel Mora, she's a misandrist whose cruelty is multiplied tenfold toward men: she only uses males as subjects for her experiments in Flesh Magic. She keeps in fact an entourage of male fledglings — all Dunmeri — just for this.

The aim of her studies is to find a way to apply Flesh Sculpting to the undead, probably as a way to counter the striking and noticeable physical alterations that come with the Volkihar strain of vampirism.

Althene meets an untimely end in the second century of the Third Era, murdered by two of her own vexed fledglings.
