Halfway back to Castle Volkihar, Atalmo, who still believed at least in part of Elneri's flimsy story, organised an unannounced detour to Morthal for a certain service only the local mage could offer.

Even if he refused to cure his lycanthropy when he was in the Companion, he knew that people's stance on these matters could be very different and this proposal came with the best intentions toward Elneri's wellbeing. How would the people back at her home react if she came back as a newly turned vampire?
Her reaction, though, was far different than the one he expected.

It's very difficult to make Elneri angry — most provocations make her panic instead — and even more to make her act on her anger, but if you want to set her off, the best way is to talk about curing her vampirism. Be it that she passed far more time as a vampire than a mortal, be it that she's been conditioned for two whole centuries to think so, but Elneri is set on viewing her condition as a 'gift' and a blessing. Moreover, given her very poor state of health even as an immortal being, what assures her that she might survive the 'unturning'?
And had she been patient enough to listen to how Falion cures vampirism, her refusal would've been even more categorical; she chose to be turned by her own volition — or so she thinks... — why condemn some unwilling soul to Cold Harbour to save her instead?
