Description When the original Klonoa came out on the PSX I was 11 years old. No game, film or cartoon had captured my imagination quite like that little gem did. At the time, I didn't have the internet and none of my friends particularly liked the game, so Klonoa felt like my little secret. The first time I completed it I cried for a week. (don't forget I was 11!) and I still love and treasure the original, and though not as much, the sequel.

Which brings us to Popka, who is the first to be drawn from the hat of random fanartyness. It took him a while to grow on me. To be honest the whole time I played Klonoa 2 I just thought "Well he's not huepow." But I started to love him well enough as the game went on. I love his mish-mash design and positive outlook. Pu-KWOW!

Popka is not my original character. He belongs to Namco. This is a work of fan art by a devoted fan.

I think it was just shock, I had no idea what was about to happen. I watched the credits waiting for some sort of 'oh no, its ok,' moment, but there wasn't. TEARS. I would love to write a Klonoa 3

I got the same feeling from Klonoa 2. I loved the game. The levels, music, characters... everything about it was beautiful. But as somebody who played the original first, I just couldn't ignore the giant Huepow-shaped hole in the middle of the game. Some say that Klonoa forgot Huepow after the events of Phantomile, but I don't believe this. At the end of Lunatea's Veil, Klonoa tearfully tells Lolo that they will 'always be together'. These are the exact same words that Huepow said to him near the end of Phantomile. I think he's crying not only because he's leaving his Lunatean friends behind, but because he's still misses Huepow terribly and longs to see him again. To this day, I still hope he will get that chance.
