Description
My mom originally did this computer art drawing for me but I decided to do a remake of it. Whenever i'm upset,I look at it to help me understand myself more. I know it sounds silly, but it sort of helps. I had no idea where to put this,so I put it in ASCII,even though it isn't an image made from computer text,it's more of a word project I did in Macromedia Fireworks MX. Asperger's Syndrome is a psychological disorder I have that's very much like mild autism. Napoleon Dynamite and Deb both display certain behaviors of it. Forgive me for the crappy spacing,I just edited it to have it make more sense.Related content

This shows why being an Aspie can suck. Believe me, I am one myself. I've gotten better at such things as communication and understanding, but I still don't feel advanced enough.
Sorry if I sounded like a whiny little girl; I just wanted to express my thoughts and emotions.

Thank you so much for posting this.... I was just recently told that I have Asperger Syndrome (Really weird I know that no one caught it in my 20+ years of living until now) and this has helped put some things together. I think I will be using this a lot as I learn about this syndrome and how to actually cope with everything.

That is me! I found out about Aspergers about 3 months or so ago and I feel like I found myself. The feeling when you realize your problems have "reason" is amazing.

As my bf said, I am also an Aspie. And I have a brother who has autism so we are very much alike.
All of these things are absolutely true about me. It's like it described me. Although I don't have problems with people touching me (unless I barely know them). I think my worst symptoms are eye contact and sensitivity; I can't stand to wear certain clothes and I can't stand certain sounds. I was bullied all the time in school because of how strange I always acted and cuz I cry alot. I really, REALLY hate change. Plus I can't stand to be in crowds of people I don't know, I get very overwhelmed. Do any of these happen to any of you too?

I've been curious about the brain for awhile, especially Asperger's because that's my main interest. (Last year was Bi-Polar Disorder)
I clicked on this and when I went through I was like:
1) Yes, all the time. The last sentence in this line applies the most.
2)Yes (It makes perfect sense to me though)
3)Sometimes
4)Up until last year, now I'm not so shy around people unless I don't know them well.
5)Depends. I need to know what to expect at school, but I like to change up my free time sometimes.
6)Who doesn't? XD
7)Yes
8)Yes, it goes along with the first sentence.
9)Yes
But I don't have Asperger's (I don't think!), it just is super-duper interesting to learn about these things. This is really cool andI think teenagers without Asperger's should also take a look at this, it's kind of inspirational about how to be yourself!!!
Cool poster!

The best thing to remember is that we are all different. If we were all the same, it'd be a dull and boring world, wouldn't it?

An interesting, and true, acrostic. I was diagnosed with Asperger's the summer before my 6th grade, so I tried to find out everything I could about it. My mom and dad also did this, so I read some chapters from the books they had gotten.
Got to say that this is very true, all-in-all.

I have Asperger and it's 50/50 to me. I have friends and family who understands me or else it is very hard to live with it, so I kinda both like it and hate it in diffirent ways.

about Eye contact part. I can't do Eye contact in any way. If i try my eyes hurt in the same way as they hurt when i watch directly the sun (i tried when i was a kid). When i was 2 my parents tried to teach me to look directly in theyr eyes. I failed, so they tried to start to teach me to look their ears when they were talking with me. I tried and i could hear nothing. I can't use two senses at once.

I have Asperger's Syndrome myself - for some reason though the Eye Contact thing is probably my biggest symptom, and to some extent the obsessing and fear of a significant amount of change and rejection (going away to uni ext year still makes me a tad nervous). Escapism, too, though I guess it was "worse" when i was younger (I didn't know when it was and wasn't acceptable to play pretend, it was said I have an overactive imagination). And I'm not gonna lie, social situations are awkward and difficult, but mainly when I'm dealing with new people. It's different once I've known a person for a while, for some reason. And games, can't forget the games! It's mainly Poke'mon with me for some reason, though... I've tried picking up other video games but overall the only ones I finish are Poke'mon games (but then you can never really "finish" those).
It's strange, I haven't really thought much about my "aspie-ness" until this past semester - I guess from meeting another Aspie and noticing how much he's struggled whereas I seem to just... well, I guess "adapt" better, to the point where I think I might've been misdiagnosed. The more I look into it though, the more I guess I kind of see some of the supposed traits/symptoms in myself.
(Sorry if this seems irrelevant *hides*)

People with A/S are just like normal people, only a bit different. It's scary, without a word of lie.
I always thought there was a reason behind why I had the mannerisms I did, and until 2 years ago, I had no fucking clue at all. It really all makes sense. It wasn't being beaten up, it's a side effect of A/S.

That was wonderful of your mom to make this. I have Asperger's too, so I saw a lot of myself in all the descriptions about Asperger's. Living with it has never been easy, but it makes us very unique, special individuals.
Did you also know that a lot of people believe guys like Einstein, Issac Newton, Beethoven, Van Gogh, and Thomas Jefferson had Asperger's?

When I was growing up, I hated the fact I was born with Asperger's, I was bullied and mocked by my peers, openly sterotyped by special ed teachers and tas, I had no self confidence, there was no one on my side, and I did everything I could to hide my disorder. But...now that all those things have passed, I have come to accept what I was born with and realize there is nothing wrong with what I have
