lol, I did it totally the wrong way, since I have no idea either. I submitted the file as a gif, which needs a preview image (that's the pic you see on DA), put it in the wrong gallery, submitted it, then shoved it in scraps so no one would whine about the catagory C:
I have no idea how to do it properly :C

Wow, you have a knack for writing things in a really easy to understand way. That's great because in lot of tutorials, I don't know what on earth is going on, but I can follow this with ease.

Woah! I never commented on this *slits wrist* This was actually very helpful!! My photoshop is old and doesn't have 'clipping mask' but I realized I can lock the layer to have a similar effect! C:

I never realized that so many good artists use the clipping mask function quite frequently... I usually encounter that quite often in other tutorials. I use a different method that leads to the same end result.
At least you did not over-explain, which I think is bad in my opinion
Anyways, not bad for a first tutorial.

C: Thanks~
Yeah, I prefer using clipping masks, because it's easy to edit the layers whenever I need to, unlike the transparency function.

Kuurin In reply to KENji-ken [2007-12-13 10:34:06 +0000 UTC]
They're brushes that come with Photoshop itself, It only looks that way since I use a tablet, and the brushes mend themselves to match the tablets pressure feature. But, you can gain the same effect using the mouse, with a normal brush and the blur tool.

Perhaps you could re-install the drivers. I have that problem with my wacom all the time. Google the make of your tablet and see if there is an update.

THANK YOU.

This was helpful. Although I cant use some of the techniques you mention, because I have a branch version of ps.
Though, when youre doing your lineart, what kind of brush do you use? And what resolution do you work at?
