Description
As the old saying goes, "If you can't beat them, join them". So with so many deviants taking part in this mame created by , I might as well have to be part of it, so here it is, My Influences. As you can see, these are based on both my art and comic strip stories, so is sort of a mixed bag as such.Matt Groening and Seth MacFarlane's styles are what my art is based on. Take on Me - The Toonatopian Files is done in the style of Groening while Eightiestoonville is done in the simular style of MacFarlane. Spongebob and the Nicktoons is done in the style of Butch Hartman but I'll let the Nicktoons represent it because they inspired me to do Spongebob and the Nicktoons through the Nicktoons crossover video games such as Nicktoons (SpongeBob SquarePants and Friends) Unite.
I grew up watching Hanna Barbera cartoons when I was in single figures and they provided me with my first experience of Cartoon crossovers through Yogi's Tresure Hunt and The Jetsons meets the Flintstones. Roger Rabbit? Who is he!
As an 80s baby, I grew up watching the cartoons from that particular decade (although I was scared splitless when I first watched He-Man, with Skeletor and Castle Greyskull), and it's the rememisance of these cartoons that kick-started the idea for Eightiestoonville.
When it comes to writing the scripts for my comic strips and fanfic, I use the styles of Monty Python, Harry Hill and Reeves and Mortimer as a inspriation. This is because I believe that the plot will become so random if it's more off-beat or surreal.
