I was gonna try making my battle backgrounds double the size for mmos...I don't think I will after this haha.Takes so long. Still, looks cool no? Got to be my biggest pixel art ever.
Can you imagine how detailed and complicated pokemon would have been if they had screen sizes this big?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love your backgrounds. There's just enough texturing to not make it too bland, but not so much that it would distract from the main battling action. If I had to criticise something, it would be the brightness since it looks like the cave doesn't have a ceiling.

This really takes time and effort. I admire you for that.
I do the battle bgs for Monimals too and it's way bigger than this and it sure requires patience and hardwork.
The only difference is that, this one requires more work since this one is pixel art.

Yep. I did that. And it will be updated as development goes.
And yep, it's hard to visualize... Also, you have to consider the game map too before you draw the environment. You can't just draw any tree that wasn't present in the map.

Yeah I try to stick to that too, or using the colours of a tree on a map. The part I struggle with is the perspective haha, it's hard to make a background look right for a full grown adult and a small creature - e.g a tree has to look big to a creature but not so big to a person otherwise it looks strange.

I suggest that you draw stick figures as imaginary trainers on the canvas and use it as a guide when drawing the bg to give you an idea of how the perspective should be.

Looks great! However I feel that PokΓ©mon styled this way would lose a lot of detail, due to the empty space and plain designs they have.

Yeah, they'd either look really plain, or they'd be really detailed. I guess if it's a mammal you could give them a little bit of fur here and there to make them more detailed, or scales if its a reptile. I might try that out and see how it looks!
Anyway It's mostly cos mmo battlescreens are bigger, and they do the pokemon pixels x2, so I wanted a bigger background to go along with it.

You should know that a new battle simulator called, Poke Showdown- ran by 'Smogon' are using your battle backgrounds I've tried reporting to all tiers of staff but so far no response.
